Neither. He hasn't had much luck promotion wise which has made him fairly inactive.
I think he has the ability to become world champion but he really needs to be out more as you seen in the hadillah fight how ring rusty he actually was.
I think if Ward moves up then the division is wide open, Degale could be up there as long as he gets busy sharpish he is 27.

DF can't go on a single thread without causing an argument or having a go at someone he thinks is an idiot. Forums are about opinions, people should be allowed to express them as long as they're sensible about it.

As for DeGale, I still have hope that he will come good. He's not as much of a wanker as you'd think, I've shook his hand and he was very nice and well-mannered. Spoke to all the fans around him. I think he's definitely calmed down a lot since he lost to Groves.

After he won the European title Allegedly should have capitalised on it and pushed him to the moon. It's clear though that after he signed Groves he lost interest in James for whatever reason (became to expensive I reckon). Hoped him going to Hennessy and getting on Channel 5 would get him back on track but it doesn't look to have happened, he's only fought Euro-bums in phoney baloney eliminators and not looked very good.

If Hennessy can't get him out regularly and on TV against opponents he can get himself up for then he should walk away. He'll definitely have to lower his contract demands if he wants another promoter to take him on. I wouldn't be surprised if he linked up with Golden Boy UK.

    An overwhelming majority chose DeGale.

You can't push a fighter without a platform.

Golden Boy have a deal with BoxNation don't they? I know Allegedly and James don't get on anymore but I doubt Frank would threaten to pull the plug on Golden Boy UK if they signed him, their international cards are what's keeping BoxNation going.

No way he'd get in with Matchroom though. It would be a massive shame to him keep being wasted by Hennessy and Channel 5 though, same for loads of others who are with Mick.

He is not an underachiever nor is he overrated. He is still progressing, and at any rate it's silly to judge a fighter (well, most fighters) careers until they're over. If he doesn't at least get to world level he will have underachieved. And so far I can't recall anyone rating him to an extent he could be called overrated.

His style needs changing. I can't remember the last time I saw him sit down on a punch, he's all arm punches/scoring shots.

I remember Booth saying he had weirdly long arms, if this is the case, why hasn't anybody tried to get his jab as a weapon??
