Exactly, Warren did the same thing with Barker-Macklin.

Tris Dixon is BN says if Coldwell can't put it on the board will offer it to the the next highest bidder (Booth) but only if he puts a purse equivalent to what Coldwell offered (400k).

Warren is being a twat, I'm sure there's being many times when a promoter asked for an extension to put on a mandated fight and it's being given.

I think Warren will be happy to see this fight take place as long as its in April.

He won't be making money from DeGale yet. He is getting world title wages but not gaining world title PPV sales or ticket sales. He is having to put everything PPV to pay the Olympions over inflated purses.

In BN today they say the working date for the fight is on the 9th of April, and i would assume London is the location. If that is the case and Coldwell tells Warren that the fight will on the 9th at the Excell for examlple(The o2 and Wembely Arena have concerts that night) i can see Warren getting Degale to Vacate because Warren has a big show of his own the week before, which could lose out on ticket sells.

DeGale is not a big ticket seller especially when he is fighting nobody.

This is the Degale/Groves fight negotiations in a nutshell.

Degale - Groves would sell very well in London and do very well for Haymaker but Warren has his own show the week before which he does not want to be overshadowed by this,so if Coldwell puts the fight on the 9th warren will pull Degale out and promise him some kind of bogus alphabet world title by the summer.

With Hayemaker winning the purse bids the chance of this fight happening has diminished imo.

does that include paying DeGale the £240,000 he would get for this fight?

Interesting point,i`m sure Warren would keep him sweet with a wba ordinary or wbo shot in the summer which he could milk a few easy Defences of and make real good money remember Calzaghe was on 500,000 each time for his wbo title fights.

I hope i am wrong (i could well be)and Warren lets this fight happen,i just doubt it.

oh hurry up and make the ****ing fight. who cares if one of them loses. the winner moves on and the loser rebuilds. what is the big ****ing deal. all these mugs end of losing. why don't people in the fight game realise what holyfield realised in his day - its better to lose to bowe, moorer, lewis etc rather than some no name.

    Agreed.

Holyfield avenged the losses to Bowe and Moorer, and was unlucky not to get the nod in the Lewis rematch too.

Suppose that's payback for the gift draw in the first one!

i think this fight needs to happen now , the loser can re-build and the winner can catapult hiself into real world contention of the back of it

i mean if its a tight decision or an entertaining win for one they get a lucrative rematch
