I gave it to joe as well. Terrible fight though wouldn't go out of my way to watch it. B-Hop just couldn't keep with Joes work rate and ability to adjust. Don't see the comparison in Degale or Joe either except for what Mandana said in terms of punching between the two.
Calzaghe beat Hopkins in reality, morally, and any other way you want to judge it. With degale, the comparison to Joe is impossible to make, because as slip has said on other threads, Joe had incredible intangibles, ring iq etc. Degale has to prove these qualities, you can't just be awarded them. Style wise, Joe preferred to fight inside/mid range way more than degale does.
Hopkins won it. Calzaghe hardly landed a decent punch all night, was dropped and made to look amateurish in the first five rounds. Sure he came back well, and could have forced a stoppage over 15, but was still behind after 12.
For Fsake, what is this site turning into, the Degale Appreciation Society. He aint the new Calzaghe, he aint the new Gman, he is just the new Warren hype job, the jury is still out on him, until he takes on someone with a decent pedigree lets wait and see
exactly ,its a ****ing shambels on here.,****s posting about degale walking through the thames as he parted the water
Not really alike aside from the occasionally slapping punches. Apart from that they are different styles entirely. DeGale lands his best punches when he counters, Calzaghe hardly ever countered he was always leading.
Calzaghe won it. Just. So close its almost not worth argueing about. Anyone who scored it clearly for either man needs to have a word with themselves.
