Golden boy is already sinking, that's why Oscar wants Haymond gone. Canelo Alvarez is all Golden boy has left.
lol, you act like Schaeffer was doing the job he was paid to do out of the goodness of his own heart. Get a ****ing clue. What's true is that Schaeffer is sitting on the sidelines now and for a while. Maybe having some ethics would have helped Schaeffer. Who would have thought that? It would really be irresponsible to be hanging with hookers and blow w/o someone manning the ship, but in Oscar's case he did have someone. He employed Schaeffer who was supposed to be protecting GBP's interest instead of stealing GBP's contracts and moving them to Haymon.
Schaeffer will do just fine once that "non-compete" clause expires. Maybe he had a problem working for Oscar while Oscar was dealing with his "issues". I can't say I blame him. Schaeffer will land on his feet but heaven knows what will happen to Oscar. I wish the best for him but you have to be in serious denial to see that he doesn't have serious problems.
I honestly don't care what he does in his spare time, as long as it is not destructive. As I say, live and let live. He can be a hell of a promoter even in pantyhose. But he is no good to anyone as a dopehead.
Oscar is a GREAT fighter, he never ducked anyone, he always sought the toughest fights and with the exclusion of the Pacquiao, has never ever been outclseed.... With that said, this fighter is just starting to enter his prime as a business man. It seems Oscar has exchanged his cocaine habit with workaholicism. Good for him!! Oscar already got Schaeffer paying him, Haymon is probably next. Oscar also had Pacquiao paying him for a few years. I hope Oscar wins this as he seems to be one of the few Power-houses in boxing who care somewhat about the fighters.
Oscar shouldn't throw stones. Every time Bernard Hopkins steps in the ring, he and Golden Boy violate the Muhammad Ali Act. Hopkins is a co-owner of Golden Boy. Hopkins serves as his own manager, and Hopkins competes in the matches. Wlad Klitschko does the same thing. He's a co-owner in K2, which promotes his fights. He's a co-owner of KMG (Klitschko Management Group), which manages him. And he's a participant in the actual bouts. And Floyd Mayweather's promotional company is promoting the Mayweather-Pac fight, and Floyd claims to select all his opponents and he's about to engage in a bout his company is also promoting. This Muhammad Ali Act was written back when Don King was the biggest promoter in boxing, and he was basically serving as the manager of the fighters he was promoting. And people thought it was a conflict of interest if the promoter also managed a fighter. But since Oscar started fighting and promoting his own bouts with Golden Boy, and he brought in other fighters like Hopkins and Mosley to be co-owners ... they've all violated the Ali Act. How can a promoter be objective if that promoter is also COMPETING IN THE ACTUAL FIGHT? At least Haymon doesn't also fight in the ring ... like Hopkins and Klitschko do, and De La Hoya used to. This Muhammad Ali Act has been trampled by the very people who are now trying to use it to stop Haymon. It's a case of if you point one finger at someone, you're pointing the rest of your fingers at yourself.
True that! De la Hoya whining like a ho in church. If it was Arum laying down a master stroke like that, you wouldn't hear a peep outta these haters. It don't matter cause Haymon gon roll right over that like a giant.
How isn't he "normal". Alot of people are ex drug addicts, more than you realize that go on to do huge things in life.
IIRC there is a bylaw or amendment in the Ali Act that states that a person who engages in a sanctioned match CAN hold a managerial or promotional occupation. Promotion wise: Such as Klitschko, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto among others that are both fighters and promoters...!!! Manangement wise: Such as Klitschko, I believe Mosley was self-managed, and some of the younger fighters that do not have managers yet...!!!
According to the Ali Act, I don't believe you can hold all three (promoter, manager AND FIGHTER) in a bout you're competing in. Hopkins, Wlad, Oscar ... have all done that. Oscar started it when Golden Boy began promoting his fights. IF being the promoter and manager of a fighter is a conflict of interest, I have no idea how being the promoter, manager AND fighter in a bout wouldn't be.
Mosley is a co-owner of Golden Boy, as well. At least he was at one point. And I know he managed himself after he divorced his wife - who was on paper his manager. So Mosley violated it, too, when fought on Golden Boy cards. Since it was passed, Golden Boy is the biggest violator of the Ali Act. Like I said earlier, Oscar shouldn't throw stones. He should be the first person prosecuted for violating the act. His company has been violating the act since 2002.
Oscar is a jealous coke snooorting b1tch. But his plan will backfiree. He got taken to school by a real business brain who studied at Harvard. And the final nail will be by the rise of Hip hop mogul of Roc nation taking the final piece of the pie from odh.
