    :good Spot on

The fighters of yesterday would be massive today in terms of popularity with all the advertising outlets from Cable to mass social media...

Even without all those advertising tools, fighters like Tyson and DLH were HUGE!!

Fantastic idea!!! They made an incredible amount of money by displaying a pathatic lackluster performance...

The least they can do is fight on network TV and try to K each other TFO.

Ugh, this is what I meant by going around in circles. The official record is Whitaker won and I'll go by that. Now I would be a hypocrite if I didn't do the same for Trinidad.

As to your point about the punch statistics, Whitaker outlanded him in total punches. Also who cares. I didn't know that when judging fights we have to wait until the very end all when all the stats com in. I thought we score them round by round in real time.

Lol, why do human beings do this...IDK. I don't know the exact quote but Ray Leonard said something along the lines of people venerating fighters from their era and the past. I've noticed that has been the case with the de la hoya/tito/mosley era. Also regarding the Mayweather vs. De La Hoya fight. People always say De La Hoya wasn't prime, and forget that Floyd's worst division is 154 and that was his first fight there. If you want to compare them prime for prime best weight is either 140 or 147. Whomever you have winning you can't use Floyd's 154 fight as the reason.

First off, officially, Oscar WON over whitaker, as I recall, the decision wasn't even THAT close. Pernell did outland overall, but that was due to many feeler jabs. WATCHING the actual fight though, it was easy to see Oscar was landing the harder and most effective punches and was outworking Pernell and coming forward. He stunned pernell and buckled his knees twice in the fight with big uppercuts. The only thing pernell did that was impressive, was make oscar miss wildly at times, but Oscar was still landing great shots. Also, Pernell's corner told him that he needed the 12th round, Pernell opted to stay away and not engage and that round on my card cost him the fight. To me it was close, but Oscar simply landed the better punches and did more damage.
As for Tito vs Osar, no explanation really needed. Oscar outlanded him overall and with power punches, and busted tito's face up good. Tito could barely land a significant punch the entire fight. That fight is usually ranked in the top 3 worst big fight decisions with the mosely rematch fight not too far behind.

Oscar at LW or welter would destroy Floyd prime for prime. Oscar at LMW was his worst class outside his ridiculous MW run. He became slower and more flat footed and his power didn't carry over. Atleast Floyd still physically looked great at LMW, still ripped and healthy looking. Oscar didn't look as sharp nor performed as well after leaving Welter.

You're right Oscar won is what I meant to say. Like I said I'll go with the official record. Not wanting to be a hypocrite I'll have to go with the official record on other fights including his fight with Tito.

Oscar was also a little more chinny below 154. People said he was weight drained. IDK, but I know Floyd was also stronger and faster below 147. At 140 it would be a good fight. You gotta admit Floyd is better than old Chavez and Miguelangel, also Oscar is better than Gatti and Corley.

What's crazy is that he really doesn't. He was thoroughly dominated in that fight, then stopped. Berto Balboa I guess:!:

You're dreaming. Not only that but the only shot ODLH would have at beating PBF is at Super feather. Other than that Floyd beats him in every other weight class...

How come Floyd was clueless - in his prime - against Oscar when Oscar jabbed his head off for the first six rounds then?

I wasn't aware world title fights were six rounds?:huh
PBF gave #38 that work with a stacked deck at 154. PBF took his jab away made his aggression ineffective outboxed him landed the more flush punches and watched him fade down the stretch on cue. PBF won that fight 9-3 going away. May 5th 2007 will always be known as Cinco De Mayweather deal with it Oscar***ual.:hi:
