I agree with you. But, if you're being honest, the fans make fighters afraid to lose. You know decent fighters have had bad showings or lost and fans start saying he was overrated, hype job, he should retire and use the fact he lost as a reason he shouldn't get a big fight until he works his way back to the front of the line. I understand when fighters get a belt they want to try and roll that into a big money fight. I don't think these guys are cowards to fight better opposition, they just don't want to be frozen out for a year or 2 if they lose, before they get another shot.

If they are afraid to lose and they dont want to build a decent legacy, for me that's ok.

But if the guy who was not afraid to lose, took risks and became the money cow doesnt want to fight them. Then that's ok for me too.

I dont see why the money cow should give them a fight they dont deserve, when the money cow can get the same money or even more fighting other fighters.

Plus, people claiming for things they doesnt deserve make me sick. That's why I find figthers like andrade or connor benn disgusting. Hatton jr cant box, but at least he does not claim he deserves the money fights after fighting bums.

Fair point. But if a guy fights to become mandatory he should get the fight. Unless you want a system without mandatory challengers.

the abc corrupted guys saying that you deserve a fight with the money cow, doesnt mean that you deserve a fight with the money cow.

The only one who decides if you deserve this fight or not, is the very money cow. And he earnt this right by not being afraid to lose and fighting everybody and his mom and winning. The other figthers could do the same, and you would see the cow looking for them instead of the other way around. ahhh, but they are afraid to lose, so they dont to it, they just do the bare minimun and beg for money.

Canelo being 23 years old was facing an ATG and losing his zero. After that he continued fighting EVERYONE. Why andrade cant do the same? the obvious answer is that he can, but he doesnt want to. He wants the money fights, but no risk. I hope he will die without getting that fight, the same way amir khan will do.

If the #1 contender is some shlub, then he STILL should get his shot. This IS Still a sport. And if cash cows keep denying contenders because they aren't well known enough, then this isn't much of a sport anymore.

Dude, Canelo was given the red carpet treatment from the get go. If you think Canelo had to work his way up from scratch like unknowns have to, you are mistaken.

NOW...that does not mean canelo didn't make the most of his shots. Obviously he did. But he's a cash cow...he gets the benefit of doubts for rounds simply due to popularity.

This is how is still has to go. ^

If they do NOT want to fight their mandatory, arrange a step aside fee, or drop the damn belt. Guys should not be overlooked due to being unknown. And sure, some mandatories are crap. But not being world wide famous should NO DQ one from a fight.

But don't hate the rankings and org but still give the champ w/ the same belt all the props in the world. they are still a part of the 'rigged' system whether participating.

a guy who started pro at 16 yo got the red carpet? seriously?

this is a sport? no, man, this is a business, and anyone saying the contrary is lying to you. People go into the ring to make money. For that reason and only for that reason. They can think a bit about legacy too as long as they can build this legacy while making money too. They are not amateurs.

Once you are the man who makes the money, you decide who has the right or not to earn that money with you. PERIOD. Because you got to this position tanking risks that the others didnt take, and succeeding where the others failed (or even didnt dare). For the rest you can go to the amateurs.

there are many fighters who have droped the belts and went to fight for money to other divisions instead of fighting their mandatories.

And of course an unknown name can be overlooked by the cash cow. There is a reason why he is nobody, fix that problem first. To the cash cow table you go with money, or you go without risk, or you dont go.

Cant believe we are discussing something so obvious.

Sure, not denying that happens. And then when two new guys fight for the dropped belt, they are frauds who won a paper title (According to most on this board).

Charal...99% of the world's boxers are nobodies. Even those known to diehard fans aren't going to be household names and stars.
Canelo became a cash cow because he was favored by Golden Boy and given more airtime for fights.

What's obvious is you are a small picture poster. All those trees you see, that's actually a forest.

This is getting shittier each day. First Munguia blatantly ducks Andrade, now Andrade ducks Janibek. I wonder what will happen with the WBO belt though.

Would be quite noteworthy if we got GGG vs Janibek in all Kazakh battle with IBF/WBA/WBO unification on top late next year though.

So, you're OK if Canelo fight one of the Paul Brothers instead of his mandatory challenger? The system is set up so guys can work their way to a mandatory position. The flip side to you argument is, what if the cash cow is a punk? You have a legit contender that fought his way into the #1 mandatory position and is now being ignored because the Cash cow doesn't want to fight him.

EVERYONE should be wary of this. If I may add, if people don't care about this, why care about the champ??

He should have dropped the belt a long time ago and moved up when it became obvious that Canelo was not coming back down and golovkin had no interest
