Ali would win by decision. Dempsey would have success with his left hooks and speed but I think Ali's strength and speed would be something entirely new to a prime Dempsey.

Dempsey caught a fat, old, inactive novice who was a better cowhand than fighter. Probably the most overrated win in the history of sport.

    Ali KO7

Jack Kearns and Dempsey would go into this fight in top condition and with a plan. Dempsey's speed would be a factor and the '71 Ali had diminished foot speed. I believe this fight would look like the Montreal Leonard-Duran fight. Dempsey W15.

That's what I see. Like Joe, Dempsey would keep hammering at the body. Unlike Smoke, Jack routinely knocked out victims with his right as well. Watch him pound Big Jess against the ropes. If Ali tries laying back there, the Mauler will make Muhammad pay the price.

Prime Dempsey of the Willard fight in 1919 beats the 1971 Ali of the FOTC...Jack had the power...the speed and the kill or be killed attitude to beat the past his prime Ali of 1971..
