Dempsey was down several times in his career himself.

luf, bringing up the Flynn fight is not indicative of the Jack dempsey when he met Jack Kearns. It was MOST likely a DIVE, as his ex wife testified in court...She had nadir to gain by lying to the court...Zilch...Aside from this bout Dempsey took shots on the chin and always weathered the storm. Always. He was as tough a dude that ever fought...

Yes he was , but his chin was pretty reliable, the idea that all Langford has to do is land one big shot is wide of the mark, imo.

Of course it does. Anyone Dempsey could hit he could hurt.

But take a reckless aggressive type and throw him in against maybe the greatest trap setter in history and I see only one outcome.

    The greatest trap setter?

This is based on all the abundant footage I suppose?

yes. The footage I've seen shows him repeatedly walk his opponents onto huge shots. Plus there's the write up of his victory over Flowers. Makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck reading that bad boy.

clips of Jeannette, Lang and Flynn?

    Flowers that super heavyweight?

He scaled 153 lbs just 3 months earlier, plus he was hardly the most durable of fighters.

I was being facetious, and Flowers had been kod less than a month earlier by Lee Anderson 21-9-11 , and would be stopped a month later by Jamaica Kid 6-8-2 , As I said ,not the most robust of chins.

Langford was practically blind and dropped him for the full count.

Its a terrific result but it doesn't confirm your sweeping statement that Langford was the greatest trap setter of alltime , neither do two or three grainy film clips, any more than Langford's statement that Dempsey was the greatest heavyweight champion of them all.
