It was MOST likely a DIVE, as his ex wife testified in court...She had nadir to gain by lying to the court...Zilch...Aside from this bout Dempsey took shots on the chin and always weathered the storm. Yes he was , but his chin was pretty reliable, the idea that all Langford has to do is land one big shot is wide of the mark, imo.

I was being facetious, and Flowers had been kod less than a month earlier by Lee Anderson 21-9-11 , and would be stopped a month later by Jamaica Kid 6-8-2 , As I said ,not the most robust of chins.

Its a terrific result but it doesn't confirm your sweeping statement that Langford was the greatest trap setter of alltime , neither do two or three grainy film clips, any more than Langford's statement that Dempsey was the greatest heavyweight champion of them all.
