Dempsey vs Wills article

Just out of interest. How many fukkin times did Dempsey take his title " on the road " because if it was as often as Kerry keeps writing it people must have suffered " Ffs not ANOTHER Sinatra comeback " syndrome long before the 80's.

 

It was his greatest win. I make no bones regarding that.

 

That's too philosophical for boxing.
First things first, the man has to win the title to hold the title.
Once that fact is decided - which man is holding the title - then it's up for debate whether he's living up to his duties as champion.

Dempsey won the title, and claimed to be champion, hence he was. Everyone agreed he was champion, not least the likes of Harry Wills who was frustrated by the fact.

 

You'd bloody well hope so.
Imagine McVey-SuzieQ-Mendoza frequenting the same bar or barbershop.

 

I won't even begin to guess who those two are.
