Denis Boytsov vs Ray Mercer

Yeah, if Boystov is any kind of prospect at all he should win every round or even stop the old man late. I would assume Mercer has made some bad financial moves to still be fighting when he is close to 50.

 

I am not really sure,but I guess that Vitaly's coach who is also Boytsov's coach wanted his boy go the full route.
Though Boytsov won every single round of his encounter with Hawkins he didnt really perform well or even tried to put up a very convincing performance. His coach must have been very dispappointed with hiim.On the other hand it doesnt really make much sense continuing knocking him foes out as soon as possible.I remember one of Boytsov's previous fights against a Brasilian when his coach told him not to knock his opponent out.
At this stage of his career Boytsov can still afford to show a lacklustre performance as he isnt in the limelight.However,very soon he will have to nail his true colours to the mast.
I dont want to be too harsh on him.He used to look like a superstar in the making and I still believe in him.
He has murderous pop in his fists,is fast,and has outstanding talents.
His stamina as well as his chin are still big question marks.
Nevertheless,the potential is there.Moreover,Vitaly's coach also believes in him.
My advice: open the chain and let the beast attack its victims.Boytsov is a natural born killer who knocks the **** out of his foes.He will never be a copy of Eddy Chambers who beautifully outboxes his opponents.You cant change his style.

 

Even though he is old as hell, I will still root for Mercer. Helluva fighter in his prime.
