It was a Draw officially, and Washington won the first 5 rounds or so pretty easily before gassing. I think he did win the fight but it was close cause of his stamina.

At least Washington is a level or two above Wawzryk.

I know Wawzryk's record looks OK, but look closely or at some footage and you'll see why none of us here rate him at all.

Why isn't Wilder gunning for Ortiz or Parker? Both are available.
Why am I hearing about George Washington. As a champ Wilder is a disgrace.

I'm ok with this fight if it gets made man. At least Washington is undefeated, held his own with some live opponents, has size, no known chin issues and decent enough technique.

It's 1 month notice dude. We should be happy he's not going after Price or Stiverne rematch.

Despite the end results, Washington looked at least a notch better than Breazeale against Mansour.

I hear you, it's just with Wilder the standard has been set so low so we get excited for someone like Washington :risas3:
I believe a lot of guys would take this fight on 1 month notice, this is a meal ticket to AJ-Wlad winner if you KO Wilder and take his belt. I think guys like Ortiz, Pulev and Miller would give this a serious consideration (but probably not Parker who already has a belt and would want a full camp)

Yeah I hear you too bro, but this is more than acceptable given the circumstances. There are peeps of a Miller/Ortiz fight, and Pulev is waiting for his shot at the Klitschko/Joshua winner.

Yeah Washington is a heck of a fight on short notice! Fan of both fighters but I think Wilder stops him mid to late rounds. But given Washington's negative style at times, I wouldn't be surprised if this fight was uneventful and went the distance.

Washington can be negative at times because of suspect stamina. Wilder would go for the KO and 12 rounds is a lot of rounds to get one.

    Should be a fun fight...

I don't personally rate Washington THAT highly - I am confused as to why such a big guy would have such a wide, clumsy stance? He also likes to windmill a little bit too...
However, he stood up to quite a bit of punishment in the Mansour fight (which he lost in my eyes), and gave as good as he got most of the time - so if his chin holds up we could see an entertaining brawl between two big fellas that will be gunning to KO each other.
Does he deserve a title shot? Not yet, not really. Am I looking forward to the fight? Bring it on!

Neither Washington, nor the Polish guy can fight, but Washington is a big, strong athletic guy who can't fight, unlike the Pole, if that makes sense.

Clearly a better fight, still not a world beater but at least a decent stay busy fight inbetween the mandatories
