British and Commonwealth champion Dereck Chisora has been spared jail despite being found guilty of submitting his former girlfriend to a "humiliating" assault.
Chisora, 26, from Finchley, north London, was given a 12 week prison sentence suspended for two years at City of Westminster Magistrates Court following the attack in May.
If Chisora had received an immediate jail term he would have missed his world heavyweight title bout against Wladimir Klitschko next month.
Passing sentence, District Judge Quentin Purdy said: "Your behaviour on May 28 was disgraceful and downright humiliating.
"You used violence on this young lady and then to heap ignominy on her you turned her over and slapped her on the bottom repeatedly."

What a fckin tosser, biting opponents, Tongue kissing them, and ontop of that getting physical with his gf and then humiliating her infront of evey1.

He's like Britains very own Ibeabuchi.

And we love him for it. :yep

Least he brings a bit of character to British boxing, if nothing else.

I like Del. Obviously this isn't exactly a good thing for him to have done and he's a controversial one but like Wickio says at least he brings a bit of character to the scene. The press conference with Wlad where he constantly asks "what do you love more, your titles or your missus?" was hilarious.

Although I had a little chuckle at the last line I'll admit, I don't think Chisoras actions should be downplayed. If what he did caused his GF to press charges for assault it was obviously not a light hearted matter.

Hes a HW boxer, for him to use violence on a woman is a sad and despicable act. Shame on him. News like this makes me pretty unwilling to support him if I'm honest, which is a shame as he seems like a decent enough guy and he was starting to gather a fair bit of support.

    A hundred per cent agree.

I don't care about any of his other schtick in the ring/with fighters outside, I see that as his character - and we need that in the game. This is pathetic, though, and belongs in a totally different character.

I'm not sure when I last wanted Wlad to win a fight but I do this one.

I would wait to hear both sides of the story before judging Chisora so harshly. Sounds like a joke to me.

Women love a drama. His ex as well...

It doesn't matter what he says, he's been convicted after pleading guilty.

As said above he pleaded guilty, as she was his GF at the time.

Sounds more than a bit of 'woman' drama.
