Watch the fight again with no volume and then re-post your thoughts cos I’m not expert but I’ve seen a few fights in my time and this was a one sided fight if I have ever seen one, not a brutal massacre but a one sided boxing lesson imo.

Chisora, like Dillian Whyte is a one dimensional, predictable slugger. If a heavyweight goes toe to toe with him he is more than capable of knocking them out. However, the heavyweights with more strings to the bow like superior movement, footwork and jab can make him look what he is. I’m not saying this to slag him off, he’s very entertaining with a fellow slugger and I’d always tune in to watch him...but he is limited.

I think thats harsh on Whyte. I mean i agree with Chisora, he's a come forward pressure fighter that will always look to use that overhand right that he telegraphs from a mile off. However Whyte has one of the best jabs in the divison, is one of better body punchers in the divison and goes to the body more effectively than most. Granted Whytes foot work leaves a lot to be desired though. I just think Whyte has more tools than your typical slugger such as Chisora and Rivas.

I never saw a late career surge. You could argue that he made a surprising comeback post-Fury2, just to come back at all ..... but the stuff Haye and him have said since they hooked up was never demonstrated in the ring.
Chisora had a dramatic and crowd pleasing win against Takam, then Haye jumped on board, and it's been a lot of talk and fluff ever since. Unless we really want to big up the KO of Szpilka.

Gashi fight aside he hasn’t had any of those grimly flat performances he used to have every couple of fights, that’s all. I’ve never been a big buyer in this motivational issue that used to get churned out

I watched it on Sky where they were firmly up Usyk’s rectum though could hear bellew’s thoughts on the rounds

I don’t think I can be bothered to watch it back. It wasn’t that good a fight. The thing that made it interesting was not being sure what was going to happen. When it looked like Usyk might be stepping things up, Chisora looked gassed and there could be a stoppage, Chisora got a second wind.

Like I say, I’m not up in arms about the decision but thought it was close and could have been a draw or close points for Chisora depending on how you score fights. Chisora worked hard, he had to to stay in it.

Still think chisora,s being disrespected a bit. Hes had an up and down career but a lot of thats been down to motivation and having a career without too much thought put into it. This is a guy that was fighting klitchko in his 11th fight away from home. Hes continually took on anyone thats wanted it...and only the last few years hes actually started training right.

Since then hes beat whyte that first fight imo. Battered price. Beat takam. Battered Spikila. Ran whyte close for 11 rounds a second time. And now gave usyk a bit of a fight. Dereck might not be pleasing on the eye. But hes a good fighter. Hes a solid unit. With a good tank for his size and heavy hands and hes a bit smarter than people think in a boxing ring.

The one thing people see is hes not the most nimble of fighters. But very few are at heavyweight. Chisora is far more than a plodder tho
Good fighter chisora...outside of joshua and fury...he,ll be competetive with anyone in that division.

I,d actually love to see chisora go in with joshua. Its a 10 to 1 shot but unlike a lot of joshua opponents chisora would actually have a go. A lot of guys have turned up to wait till joshua tired only to get knocked out. The worst i,ve seen joshua fight was against ruiz and whyte. Two guys that put him under pressure. Its a long shot but anyone that throws big....should be in the dangerous category for joshua.

Ppv star Derek Chisora probably doesn’t get out of bed for less than 3 million these days ! Madness really I think it would go the same way unless we had the matchroom brigade judging , then we would probably see chisora taking a wide decision

You said the 11 fight thing twice now and it just isn't true.

Ha ha. Just looked it up...no sure where i got the 11th fight thing from. As you,ll probably already know vitali was his 18th fight. By the time he had 20 fights. He,d fought Tyson fury. David haye. Vitali klitchko. Thats mental when you think about it.

What I find interesting is that after his loss to Usyk, Chisora has many options for his next fight and his phone will be ringing. Usyk on the other hand has had his reputation diminished and now the thought of him beating Fury or A.J. seems remote. Heck, I don't think he'd beat a lot of decent contenders.

That's an interesting point of view.

Yes, Dereck Chisora's phone will be ringing because plenty of boxers will want to add a half-name to their record and a presumably decent pay day.

Nobody will be calling out Oleksandr Usyk precisely because the risk far outweighs the reward - he'll be avoided because nobody wants to get in the ring with the guy from an egoist perspective. He'd make a lot look absolutely silly. It wasn't too long ago Adam Kownacki was being bigged up on here - he's no bigger than Oleksandr Usyk, just fatter, and nobody cited that he was too small. He is, however, a flatfooted plodding pudding.

Interestingly, back in the day, Tyson Fury fans like myself were in the minority who thought he was capable of winning a world title. The consensus was that it was only a matter of time before David Price would knock him out and that the Klitschko's were avoiding him solely because he was not worthy of stepping into the ring with them, despite the likes of Alex Leapai, Tony Thompson, Francesco Pianeta earning their shot on apparent merit. It's not hard to see through he bull****, Oleksandr Usyk will be avoided because he's a risky fight and the thought of losing to an undisputed cruiserweight king would be too damaging from a "legacy" perspective. If he were to defeat Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua, many would regard him as having leapfrogged the defeated man.

Just for discussion, who are a lot of decent contenders you don't think he'd beat?

I don’t begrudge any one getting paid as it’s a short career.

That being said, I rewatched the fight and Del was awful. Yes, he shows heart but his looping shots were so slow and wide, doesn’t seem to have the ability to throw a straight shot either. Unless the opponent is willing to sit in the picket and exchange hooks with him then the fight is not entertaining in the slightest.

I’m not sure I fully agree with you here. A lot of heavys will want to take the scalp of Usyk. P4P rated, undefeated and a unified championship at CW. Plus was underwhelming here.

I do admit he’s a horrible match up for most at HW. Light on his feet, good gas tank and can move for the full 12. M
