Why didn't Cortez allow him to recover from whatever was wrong with him?

    All over!

Head clash/left uppercut from Rigo. Ramos turns away. Ref thinks it's a low blow. Gives Ramos time.

Ramos still blinking. Fight resumes. Rigo goes after him and shoots a brillient shot to the body. Vicious left and it's all she wrote.

Thought it was a pull didn't look much in it. I thought Ramos was making a meal of it. Although I missed the replay as I was typing this.

The body shot before the holding and hitting was a nice one

I think Ramos realised he was out of his depth and turning away like that does make you wonder...Shades of Devon Alexander.

Yep soon as he turned away from something most fighters would just shake off I had a feeling he was going to roll over. Surprised with how easy he made it for rigo though. At no point in that fight did he look like he was going to get the upper hand in any thing he did.

He also didn't make any attempt to get up. Seemed like he was just waiting for the ref to finish the count. It's really not good to be too harsh on fighters in a situation like that and 'quit' is a dirty word. But he looked like he wanted out of there.

I feel for him though in a way. Everything he did/would've done was nullified. If he pressed the fight and showed his hand, he would got countered like crazy and stopped a lot earlier and he didn't have the foot positioning and twitch fibres to play chess with Rigo at short or mid range. Rigo does give you opportunities, although most of that is him trying to play a game of cat and mouse and baiting you. But Ramos really couldn't create or take advantage of many offensive angles.

Really enjoyed that card though, Fellas. That Diaz/Robb fight was a banging little slugfest. Always good to see Villanueva and Rigo did his thing.

    How does this grab you:

    Nonito Donaire vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux
    Hanzel Martinez vs. Matthew Villanueva
Joel Diaz Jr. vs. Guy Robb II

    ?

    :deal

Sign me up! That grabs me like trout on a hook. It would be sweet. Diaz and Robb need to dance again.

I compare Donaire/Rigo to my fascination with 3-cylinder engines. I like how a 3 cylinder buzzes and fizzes. That fight would fizz up through the rev band.
