Got diaz getting a close dec but hope im wrong. Romero takes the fake contender out in r2. Cormier i think wins via dec using his wrestling

Romero looked a bit shrunken at the weigh in.

I know that wasn't directed at me, but good call!
In hindsight, I did not know the size difference. I knew Nate had the height and reach advantages, but I did not know he was that much bigger.

I'm not sure if anybody else here follows chuck mindenhall but he's probably the best MMA writer in the game and I recommend reading some of his articles if you get chance,he formerly worked at mmafighting with ariel helwani, luke thomas etc and now works for the Athletic and he wrote an excellent article today about Nate Diaz.
You can get a free 7 day trial to read that and some of his other stuff, not sure if it will work but I will try and link the article

    Love this quote from Nate
I’m not like these hold-onto-you wrestlers who are going to hold you and hopefully win a round and find a loophole to winning these fights and putting belts on their waists. Now we’re fighting for the ‘Baddest Mother****er in the Game’ belt, and that’s mine. … I’d like to defend it against Jorge Masvidal.

Who was the real loser? Diaz might have to fight masvidal. Total mismatch. Doubt Dana signs it. If so, going to Vegas with 50 k no stress easiest payday ever.

Dude don't get it twisted Nate and Nick have never been an easy fight for anybody and if you know Masvidal, you would know he has way more respect for Nate then that and wouldn't be silly enough to call or think Nate is an easy payday.

Masvidal is on a diff level then nick or Nate. Bring that off balance, sloppy stand up, and forward pressure. Boy better work on his defense or get beat ******ed!

Also masvidal has been begging for a diaz brother for over 5 years. Styles make fights.

At this moment I would favour Masvidal to beat Diaz, his hands are superior imo but it will be interesting if it's a 5 rd main event. It will probably be a co-main event on a big ppv later this year though.

Remind me not to doubt Diaz again.

Diaz v Masvidal would be a good one. Hopefully they can make the fight happen.

Yeah Masvidal destroys him. Horrible matchup for Nate. Better boxer while still being mentally tough. There were a lot of openings especially early on that someone like gamebred would have capitalized on. Think he sleeps Nate inside 1 tbh.

Silva and GSP dominated Nick. Nate was dominated by RDA, Bendo, Thompson, MacDonald just off the top of my head so definitely not true. Nate is still tough but there were a ton of openings that someone like Masvidal would have capitalized on the other night.
