I have just watched the fight (got too drunk watching the Fury fight and didnt manage to stay awake). I score the fight 116-112 in favor of JMM. There was 2 rounds i struggled with and should have maybe scored even but i ended up giving one to Pac then feeling bad and giving the other to JMM. If i scored them both to Pac then i would have had 115-113. I should have maybe even scored them as even rounds. Either way i do not see how JMM lost this fight.
Would you call a fight an outright robbery when your 2-point margin of victory was disagreed with by the judges? I call Whitaker-Chavez an outright robbery because I scored it 118-110 Sweet Pea. I don't call Mayweather-Castillo 1 an outright robbery because I only had it 115-113 Castillo. Big difference between an 8 point margin and a 2 point margin, no?
Liked his insight and his thoughts on what Manny should have been doing, he comes across well for me, better than his co-commentator. Not sure I liked his Bradley commendatory but he had a bias there. I wonder if he gets paid or he's there for self promotion I notice you rewatched the fight, but I don't think you posted your card Roach supposedly said Manny needed a KO to win too I actually had it 9-3 BUT thought there were 7 pretty close rounds (3 of which I gave to Manny) so theoretically if you gave Manny every benefit of the doubt you could score it 7-5 to him, but that's a big big stretch
I was more concerned with trying to find six rounds for Manny Pacquiao. I couldn't find six. JMM also did a lot better in the championship rounds than I had remembered.
:huh You sure about that one? A few people have Whitaker-Chavez as close as 7-5, some have Lennox-Holyfield 7-5 On first viewing I had 7rounds that I marked as 'close', so 7-5 or 6-6 maybe a possibility, I had it 9-3 though, I'll rewatch later
The fact is, I went into the fight again looking for every reason to score rounds for Pacquiao and still had JMM winning. I'm not even a particuarly big fan of his.
Pacroid got another gift decision against JMM, i'm not surprised. :-( However I do feel I was robbed of my vCash!
My scorecard: 116 - 114 Pac JMM: 2,5,7 and 9. Pac:1,4,6,10,11 and 12. Rounds 3 and 8 being even. Can't be bothered watching the whole fight again, but I'll definitely watch a few rounds if people suggest I couldn't possibly in good conscience have scored them for Pac. Whilst I think JMM has an argument for winning, I think many here calling it a robbery are judging the fight on who won the moral victory, ala Hopkins/Calzaghe.
Roach telling Pac that he is losing tells you something he lost fight at best for him it was 115 113 for JMM i had it 8-4 for JMM and very close rounds i gave to Pac!!! Pac was never booed last night he was, people know what they saw just like us.
I had it even, but that was with giving Pac the 11th which I'm far from sure that I'd do a second time (wasn't watching that round very closely). So I would have absolutely no problems with Marquez winning by 2 points. The margin could be wider in his favour, but I can also see it scored for Pac by a point or two since most of the rounds were closely fought. Marquez have every right to feel hard done by not wining any of their three fights, but no way was this a robbery. Yes, the 116-112 card was strange but the not nearly as strange as the 118-110 card in Hagler-Leonard, and I don't see that one as a robbery either.
