Because Joe adjusted so he wouldn't be hit by it.

He didnt hurt him but he forced him to fight his fight and thats why joe won.. simple as. IMO Joe calzaghe made hopkins look old, tired and lacking in youth. Hopkins should retire... i am worried like roach about the pavlik spectacle. How can anybody like the hopkins style of late its not pretty and its illegal. Joe beat hopkins on will alone.

Wow this fight was so bad (to watch - btw thanks to Hopkins) and it is still discussed with such intensity... My take on it: Hopkins ate some hard shots (right hands) but he was never really hurt - But still he came close to getting knocked out. Being totally gassed out and being hit by punches that are hard but not ultra hard is a bad combination for any human being.

Fight his fight? Are you serious? Joe was most definitely fighting Hopkins' fight. Anyone who thinks differently cant have seen many Calzaghe fights.

Joe beat Hopkins fighting Hopkins fight.

He hit Hopkins more times than anyone hit Hopkins and he had Hopkins worried enough that he faked low blows, etc. The major thing I noticed was that any time Hopkins came forward and punched, Joe countered and pushed Hopkins back.

Boxers like Hopkins (take a look at Winky or Tarver) don't get pushed back unless they're feeling it.

I think it's ****ing petty from people to say Calzaghe didn't land **** on Hopkins. Even pettier to show ONE clip where Calzaghe was sparring with the air before trying to set up the inside left hook.

If Calzaghe didn't hurt BHop, then why did he fake the low blow? B-Hop knew exactly what was going ot happen at that moment.

I liked the Hopkins - Calzaghe Fight. Before the Fight most people said, that Calzaghe will destroy Hopkins. And then Hopkins fought his fight and gave Calzaghe no chance to throw his volume punches.
Mostly all seem to forget, that Calzaghe was sitting on his a.. in the first round:blurp

Hopkins was never hurt in the fight.
