I'm not hyped for it either, but that's because we have such high expectations for Canelo. I think everyone just wants to see Canelo vs Benavidez.
Tell that to Gervonta Davis and his team. Dude was selling 200k each fight and they just continued on with it.
Benavidez should focus on Charlo, Morrell & Andrade for more preparation before the Canelo matchup as he will need it judging by his last fight against Plant which could also have just been him being over trained to some degree even then Canelo could be a very hard matchup for him at this point.
Don't make any sense. I don't mind buying ppv for a good or highly anticipated match up, but just cause you're a star doesn't mean every fight goes to ppv.
My exact sentiment. They kept putting every Davis fight on PPV, despite the low sales. But I think the reason why every fight is on PPV for guys like Canelo, is because it makes financial sense. DAZN is better off paying Canelo through PPV revenue generated that night, than pay for it from their budget. *Some fans have speculated that PBC is producing a lot of these mediocre PPV´s because they can´t afford certain matchups. Ortiz vs Martin is a good example of this. It is rumored that the fight did anywhere between 25k and 65k in sales. If they did over 25k, then everyone likely got paid and went home with change to spare.
This fight wont do good numbers because in order to sell a lot of pay-per-view you have to have an opponent that people think can also win
I wouldn't mind seeing Benavidez vs Morrell next. But I don't want Canelo vs Benavidez to be marinated/delayed, it should ideally happen asap.
Bivol is happening next. It´s pretty much a made deal. And if Canelo were to win the rematch then he would likely unify with Beterbiev. Benavidez should move on for now. And a fight with Morrell would be absolutely fantastic!
I've cheered for Ryder against Jacobs. I've cheered for him against Parker. Now I cheer for him in this daunting fight against the ginger force of corruption.
It not always Canelos fault for the judging as I feel he gets way too much ridicule for it as opposed to other flops who did worse in that department by their own involvement in fact, Either way you have to appreciate a fighter like Canelo & perhaps when he leaves he will be more respected.
I always recommend film studying and breaking down his style religiously. His legacy is another thing to me.
You know what they say about tune-up fights. You go in for a tune-up and you might be the one to get tuned-up instead.
