I agree. I knew his lack of defense would be his downfall I just didn't think Margo would be the one to expose it.
Oh he did stick to a gameplan. He just couldn't keep Margarito off of him. What did you expect him to do? Run? He'd lose the fight running away. Everytime Cotto connected there was something coming back from Margarito. And when Margarito did land they hurt. So Cotto's only other choice was to not engage and to just run. Well, you saw what happened in the 10th and 11th when Cotto stopped throwing. It emboldened Margarito to jump on top of him. Running from Margarito isn't gonna do it. And btw, all those early rounds you saw Cotto winning handily he was still eating hard hooks to the body and some uppercuts to the head. He was winning the rounds, but he wasn't coming out of them unscathed.
