In so many words, you're telling me not only did Cotto and Peter quit, but Peter had more of a reason to do so because of open scoring. Correct? Regardless of the fact that Cotto was physically spent by round seven, eating heavy leather, and having fought rounds 7-11 on virtual instinct with a busted nose? Not mention this is all after he arguably dominated 5 of the first 6 rounds. Opposed to Peter who was never in the fight, and not looking in any serious threat of being stopped at in moment in his fight.

Of course he is gonna say that. He didnt want to make any excuses that he lost.:D We are talking about physically speaking. He had nothing to give and couldnt continue. I dont classify that as quitting. Duran quit against Leonard since he could have continued. I classify that as quitting.

I can't find the article anymore but it doesn't change the fact that he did quit.

The biggest problem is people take it so serious when you say he quit. There's nothing wrong with quiting for your health. But he did quit and to me he lakced a bit of heart, going down after not getting hit..

    He did not "quit".

He was entirely spent and had nothing left.

He did not quit. Their is a difference between not going forward with the fight because you have nothing left physically to give and flat out saying screw this I am out like what Duran did. His body was saying I cant do this anymore. I am pretty sure mentally speaking he wanted to fight on but his body was not responding.
