Physical his body just stopped, its like trying to move around in quicksand ,and he did alot of moving in that fight which is not really his speciality, he likes to dictate the pace. But mentally i think he wanted to go on. So im going to say he did not quit, he just could not go on any further.

How did he not have anything left?

Im not trying to spin the topic but you know for a ****ing fact that if this was Floyd in there with Margo and he did the same ****ing thing, the topics would never die about Floyd quiting when it got tough.

    Cotto quit, deal with it.

i think he was smart for taking knee's when he did....

i think taking a knee is an under rated technique in boxing...

but they winded up throwing in the towel or whatever so they had no choice

:rofl :rofl :rofl I knew you were going to bring Floyd into this. If Floyd fought Margarito like what Cotto did he would have earn my respect since he had the balls to fight him in the first place.

Bull ****ing ****. This place would be filled with Floyd quit when he got tough.

    Cotto quit, simple as that.

Is Cotto a quiter? No. But if he quits again, he'll be known as a quiter.

He was beaten, he knew it, we knew it and he did not continue.
There is a difference between Cotto and Peter. Cotto gave a great account of himself. Peter gave a terrible performance. Both men were beaten and made the right choice not to continue.

At least he had the balls to fight Margarito unlike Floyd since you are bringing him up!

Floyd refused to fight Margarito would you say he was "scared" of Margarito? Oh, I know, it was a business decision!:yep

If Floyd ever put on that type of performance Cotto did and became so exhausted that his body could not physically continue, I think a lot of people would have more respect for Floyd than they do.

Host: Ok, in your case as a boxer and champion I imagine that decision was very hard to make because you're thinking “I'm the champion with no losses,” was it you that made the decision or your corner?
Cotto: I was the one that made it, my family was there, my children were present and I was thinking more about them rather than the beating I was getting.
