Excellent Pics, Thank you for posting them. I would like to believe that Dempsey Had an appreciation for Smokin Joes style.
****, look at Carpentier, hasn't changed a bit in terms of facial structure. Recognise him straight away.
Anyoe have any news articles from when Depmsey ko'd muggers? It was around time pics posted were taken. As to origional question, I think Dempsey never said anything too controversial about anyone, most old timers were like that.
Great photo. This tells me about Frazier's height. Tunney at the far right of the picture was 6'1". Older people tend to shrink an inch or so in their senior days. Fraizer is on the far left, and he's about 3" shorter than Tunney, which means Frazier listed height of 5'11 1/2" is likely exaggerated by 2-3""
The angle of the photo gives a disproportionate look . However, Frazier is about a shade under 5' 11" ...
Dempsey did keep better care of his body in retirement than Louis though. If you did not know the age gap between Louis and Dempsey, you would think they were only a few years off lol. I think it was the drugs and the booze that age Louis.
