a broken pinky toe wont hinder anybody in the slightest..if it was his big toe then fine he might have had problems..

im a semi pro goal keeper and have broke toes on many occasions and managed to play 90 mins of football without pain relief..ive broken both pinky toes and i can assure you that it hinders **** ALL.nothing dosnt affect balance or pushing off jumping kicking anything infact it aint even that sore..

and the fact he had a local anasthetic before the fight means it in no way hindered his performance..

as has been said haye just isnt on the level of wladimir...

as ive always said he would have a better chance with vitali

I broke my little toe a couple of years ago (an iron full of water fell off of a 6ft 6" shelf onto my toe) I couldn't get several pairs of shoes on for well over a week because of the swelling and when i went to the gym and tried to lift a bar the pain was ****ing aweful and had to basically give up training for 3-4 weeks. S'pose it depends on the break.

But any toe injury will effect balance, ask any doctor... there's a reason we have 5 toes and not 4.

Someone brought up the mental aspect of an injury like that to a fighter and i think that is a valid point. Can you imagine, about to fight the biggest fight of your career against your toughest opponent, knowing full well you're physically not 100%??? that must play havok with your confidence.

Regardless of the injury Wlad would have won but to say a broken toe has no effect is utter bollocks

It absolutely affected him! Would it had been the difference in him winning? That we'll never know, but that's boxing. It is what it is!

I don't why people seems to think boxers should be affected by injuries. Damn, he showed his toe after the fight and it was pretty messed up. I'm not saying it would have change the result of the fight but it certainly affected him. One thing is sure, this injury is far more credible than the Bradley injury who had a minor sprained ankle...and don't talk to me about a broken foot PLEASE. This is a good old american hero history built up by Arum and HBO.

He may have fought like less of a girl but I don't think it mattered.

mate no offence but if you couldnt get your shoes on because of a broken pinky toe then im afraid you must have been trying to put your wee brothes shoes on..baby toes do not swell up that much and they are not that painfull..i suppose a pain threshold thing could be brought into play but i doubt a fighter like david haye wouldnt be able to see off a ****ing sore toe..

and if hayes adreniline couldnt see him through a fight without pain his local jab to the area would have..anyone who thinks hayes toe injury was an issue in this fight then they need slapped across the face with a salmon and told to leave the building..and this isnt just from me..neary every footballer has played with broken ****ing toes (not all can play with a broken big toe tho)and are you telling me footballers are tougher thn a boxer??lol..mate im not trying to make a **** out of you but stand up and bounce about on your feet if your even using your pinky toe for most of it i suggest you get yourself to the podiatrist and get him to have a look at your keebs..

Apparently Haye is different from mere mortals in having his little toe located on the inside of his foot...

Eh, no wait, we saw the pictures.

His excuse that he couldn't push off to throw his haymaker is, firstly, bollocks as anyone who's seen the fight can attest to, and secondly, doesn't make the slightest bit of sense from a medical point of view.

As for the pain affecting him, come the **** on, when did professional boxers became such pansies?

Hell no. . . He had that injected with enough numbing agents to dull a horse.
