So Lara is supposed to stand in one place and just allow Canelo to hit him? Canelo was swinging wildly and missing by a country ****ing mile at times, it was comical. Canelo was mad because Lara didn't get the memo that said "don't move at all so I can punch you".

 

Slipping/bobbing/weaving/ punches is totally different from galloping across the damn ring!

noh he doesnt have to stand still but if he wants to win his next fight he should hink about being near enough to the fighter to throw punches

Lara ran so much there were times where he tripped over his own damn feet trying to evade!

 

Didn't watch but I have seen enough of Lara in the past to know he probably ran and danced all around the ring. Worst fighter going right now, as far as entertainment goes. He's on my will not watch list.

I called it 2 weeks ago. I said that I will NOT buy this ppv as Lara will stink the joint out with his jab and evade tactic. Canelo vs Cotto will be very intriguing! :bbb

 

There is a difference between running and effective movement, Floyd was in and out of the pocket against Canelo countering while Lara was literally at the other end of the ring at times, putting 7 foot between you and your man is not ring generalship. I had Lara winning 115-113 but it was not a robbery and he had himself to blame for running in the mid rounds, if he did what he was doing in the first three he would have won.

Putting a country mile in between you and the other guy as your primary defensive strategy isn't a recipe for winning a fight or gaining new fans. The distance running fans out there were probably asleep well before the main event.

At times, I'm sure they all ran. It's something most defensive-minded movers will do at some point.

Were they dense enough to run the most in their biggest showcase fights before they were established, popular champions? No. They moved, but they generally knew to throw enough back to win. Sometimes, they got bit because they gambled a little short.

None of them would've been that "conservative" as Lara was knowing what was on the line last night had they been in a similar position. All those guys could also defend in the pocket much better than Lara can.
