hmm says.... nothing they trained for helped and when ricky went to the corner, none of Mayweather's advice helped either.
After seing this performance i would said that Floyd retires again after he beat Marquez. Floyd is a fighter that can be intimidated a la Judah. Thats why he didn't want to fight a intimidating fighter like Cotto, Margo and maybe Williams, because He knows he can lose the fight by knockout.
Although stylistically and speedwise I am not sure it is that clear cut that Pacman will win. Floyd is still a very good fighter. My argument with him is that he does not fight the best and avoids challenges. But I think his skills are good enough that if he had the confidence to fight guys, he might win. With Pac it is a tossup fight and Floyd is stronger. Remember, Floyd is fast and that is what Pacman has. So if Floyd is quicker and stronger both, he will probably win a decision-the fact that Pacman is southpaw helps Pacman win rounds he normally would not. Looks like a great fight and it would be exciting. I do not see a quick knockout in that one. The question is will Floyd have the guts to fight a real fighter who is great and prime? since he has not done it yet.
Took Mayweather 11 rounds to knock out Hatton who had never fought at 147 before. Took Pacquia 2 rounds to knock him out where he is undefeated (140). Mayweather may not have **** his pants, but he sure as hell raised an eyebrow. He knows, when the time comes, he will have the fight of his career at stake.
That Pac Man thrashing shocked me! I'm still stunned. I thought Hatton would get at him a little early and then resort to his dumbass old tactics later and get stopped. Manny is the best fighter in the world. If Floyd beats Marquez in an impressive manner, then I think they're even as #1 pound 4 pound in the world and their fight decides the best. I believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao will be a great boxing chapter from the modern era. I expect at least II fights from these true champions. Ricky definitely isn't Pretty Boy and Marquez is close, but not quite Manny. Talk about the fight of the new century!
Yes but when Jr. did it not many people imagined Hatton getting KO'd, and PBF is hardly a KO artist. When Pacman did it (and it was magnificent by the way) Hatton had lost the undefeated aura that surrounded him, but damn, what a KO. In any case, boxing doesn't work with A beats B, B beats C, etc... It's all about match-ups, and a Pacman-PBF match-up would be one for the ages.
Floyds defense wasnt so great against Hatton early in the fight! And Oscar was beating him with Freddies game plan until he abandoned it. Pac has a good chance of beating him because both him and Roach will be motivated beyond any challenge they have ever faced!
Don't be so sure about him beating Marquez though , yes he thinks it's an easy fight and mayweather is an extremely skilled fighter but so is Marquez who just won his second fight with Pacquiao now P4P#1 according to according to anyone who can score a fight. Mayweather may be skilled but everyone knows he's a simple man he just fights for money he has no heart and doesn't care about the sport people may think that it doesn't matter but if the fight gets tough for him he's going to crack and he's going to get frustrated, i'd still favor mayweather but JMM isn't an easy fight for anyone.
I still think Mayweather beats Pac, styles and all. Great performance by Pac though. We definitely need see this fight before the years out.
