 No it's not. Unless Mayweather was in a coma and couldn't drink. It really isn't.

Unless Mayweather is a gigantic weight cutter that passes out regularly to make weight. I really don't see why he should need an IV. Supposedly, according to his biggest fans, he makes weight eating a candy bar and having pennies in his pocket.

He often had some advantage in dimensions over various opponents. But it's undeniable that for particularly the last half of his career, he was usually outweighed by his opponent. Frequently, the difference was highly notable compared to other peer examples.

Youre deluded my friend. Guys like DLH, Mosley, Cotto, Ortiz, Canelo clearly had a larger frames and were easily heavier than Floyd.

Floyd was usually the smaller man in the ring for the second half of his career. Perhaps even throughout most of his career? The moment he started shooting up weightclasses, he came up against men with generally larger and heavier frames.

The haters should probably come up with viable strategies to deal with this to be honest. Just wish them godspeed and that good things can become of them in time.

Agreed, Floyd had a size advantage in almost all of his fights, but not always. Canelo, Corrales, Hernandez, and De La Hoya were all taller than him. Mosley was about the same size. Ortiz was an inch taller even though he had shorter reach. But yes, usually Floyd would fight smaller fighters who outweighed him.

It's weird that they outweighed him when their frames were physically smaller, but I guess it had to do with their styles or tactics in the fight. Floyd needed speed to make his style work so he'd be cutting weight while his opponents were adding weight for strength. His style was also most effective if he had a reach advantage. One has to wonder if he could have pulled off that style against fighters who had reach and height advantages over him such as Margarito or Paul Williams? As I recall, most of Floyd's opponents were smaller swarmer types who's only chance of beating Floyd would be to bulk up and use a weight advantage for strength because none of them could compete with him in terms of speed. This made everyone who didn't use their eyes believe that his opponents were larger than him.

Further adding to this idea was the fact that Mayweather refused day of the fight weigh ins for several years, and many people thought that he was bulking up and walking into the ring as a middleweight.

I wasn't here during his LW run. was he considered the bigger fighter before Corrales? Was corrales criticized for facing the smaller floyd?

PBF was frequently outweighed on fight night by guys all the time, for example Gatti, Hatton, Cotto, Guerrero, Ortiz, Oscar, Mosley, Maidana, Canelo JLC Baldo all outweighed him.

i just took a little gander at the issue because people always bring up a certain fighter (his number is 161616) who have fought bigger men but floyd is never in the discussion.
