We're all so glad you're back Wass1985. Classic forum wasnt the same without your insightful analysis
Lol this is a crazy question. Tyson lost to mcbride who lost to mollo, so mollo is a bigger puncher? So does that mean when Tyson lost to Holyfield and he in turn gets kd by Ruiz, then the Ruiz is a monster puncher?? Cos that's the same logical thinking behind the question?!
No, Mollo put McBride on his ass more than once whereas Tyson couldn't even move him despite Tyson landing his best shots. I think it's safe to say Tyson's power was massively overrated......
To be fair i don't think tyson hit as hard as some people say. He hit damn hard for sure but it's the way he delivered the punches that set him apart. Speed , technique , strength , punching power. He had it all. But not as some people say , the hardest punching heavyweight ever
Hindsight or foresight? Are you saying a guy like McBride---at the time they fought---was way too big of a step up for team Tyson and he should not have been fighting a guy like that? A much softer touch than a McBride was needed? We're talking McBride here and his toolchest isn't exactly deep. But a mismatch going in because Mike was not ready for a guy like this?
...But it can go. That is a point you are missing. The Mike Tyson who couldn't beat Kevin McBride obviously had less power than the prime Tyson. Other big hitters have lost their power: Matthew Saad Muhammad, Bobby Joe Young; even Julian Jackson, at the tail end of his career lost to the weak chinned Anthony Jones. Prime Jackson would have wiped out Anthony Jones, just like prime Tyson would have knocked out (easily) Kevin McBride. Anthony Jones was stopped by Manning Galloway, Yori Boy Campas and Tony Marshall before he stopped Julian Jackson. Am I going to thus start a thread titled "Did Manning Galloway punch harder than Julian Jackson?" Of course not, because it would be entirely illogical to do so. What is funny about you, is that you are very smug and condescending, but also not very insightful. Why is it that some of the least insightful and biased posters, seem to have the worst attitude toward people who disagree with them and can put them in their place with objective logic? I guess overcompensation and insecurity would be at least part of the explanation.
Stupid, maybe the stupidest question ever. Did McCall hit harder than Tyson becuse he could knock out Lewis in the second round ? .Horse ****.McCall looked like a featherfist against Holmes and Bruno, considering Tyson destroyed these fighters easily.
