    Maybe.

I did see that with Floyd's speed.. Shane was going to look like a jittering mess in there. I don't think he has ever seen speed like FLOYD :rofl However, I did recognise at the time that Mosley has the speed and power, that's what's left of him, and I was confidently banking on that to show up at some point ( early). It was only for a brief moment but you see what he can do even to one of the most gifted defensive boxer in FLOY. He caught him and nearly dropped him.

There wasn't nonstop action. Mosley clinched quite a bit, to get a rest. Also, Mayweather made Mosley look silly with counter punches everytime he wound up and tried to hit a HR. Margarito never countered nor did he ever make Mosley miss with a bomb. And if you know boxing you will know that missing everything with a bomb, not hitting your opponent's face, gloves, etc. tires you out much more quicker. Then you factor in the adenaline during the fight. Everytime he misses against Floyd, he gets countered. So, during the fight he gets discouraged and mentally you just start breaking down. Against, Margarito, Mosley could take his time and throw a big shot and land it on Margarito.

And then that isn't factoring in all the other attention outside the ring. Lots of pressure of everybody wanting him to KO Mosley. Tons of more press and coverage, 24/7, etc. Against Margarito it wasn't like that, it was just a regular fight. No pressure, just go in and fight and eventually get KO'd late.

And finally, we have fact that the Margarito and Mayweather fights were over a year ago and for somebody old like Mosley that's a lot of time inbetween fights.

This isn't even talking about the other factors of Mosley being a bit overtrained because he did have a scheduled fight with Berto and then that didn't happen and he had to get ready for Mayweather with not much time off. I'm not saying that's the case, because i don't know, but it's just food for thought. Then of course Mosley has never had problems fighting against people like Margarito, and he always has problems with boxers.

Mosley threw more punches vs Mayweather than vs Forrest in their first fight.

Also, Mosley with the exception of the few round after the 2nd round, threw just about the equal amount of power punches. And had over 25 power punches in the 12th.

Mosley didn't get tired, Mayweather adjusted.

Why I asked as well as being involved in boxing,I was also involved in the racing industry . Low blood counter is accompanied by lack of stamina and jittery behavior.

Haven't read the whole thread to check if it's been said but here's what I said at the time:

Mosley didn't have enough versatility. If we look at his success in the second, it's a left hook to the body, followed by a right up top. Floyd often blocks the bodyshot with his right hand, which leaves his head open. But Floyd isn't an all time great for nothing. When Mosley goes to the body in the third, Floyd knows what he's trying to do. So he takes the bodyshot and responds quickly with multiple counter hooks. This happens a few more times, each time Mayweather making it as clear that he wont make the same mistake again.

Anything else Mosley tries get countered with a straight right down the pipe. Mayweather's stance doesn't leave many areas open, and if you look when Mosley isn't throwing, he adjusts his hands and is clearly looking for an opening. Seeing none and knowing he gets countered if he throws without knowing he can land he remains fairly inactive. I was disappointed he didn't have more ideas but he said himself, Mayweather made adjustments, and he couldn't.

There was some debate about testing, here's what happened:

Funny stuff. Adjusted and had Mosley breathing from his mouth because of right hands at the end of 2nd...

    Classic!

So what? Nishioka looked the same after 2 against Munroe and proceeded to demolish him for the remaining 10 rounds.

I'm not sure the mafia or pro boxers gassing after 2 theories are stronger...

Yes but look at his first fights with Forrest & Wright. He looked lost and even his corner were puzzled which isn't a good sign for a fighter. Mosley gets jittery when he has no solution for his opponent and is very awful at having a pokerface. Mosley was a nervous wreck that night against Mayweather and his long layoff did him no help either. Good win for Floyd but that was a very faded Shane he beat.

He's just not adaptable. Against Forrest he spent the whole night looking for knockout shots and so kept eating telegraphed straight rights.

He gassed out not because he didnt have good conditioning but because,
    *He was getting outboxed.
    *He was getting countered
*His plan had been figured out, and he didnt know what else to try to do, whilst consistingly being hit with hard overhand rights and left hooks.
*The more you get hit, the more it will hold you back and eventually wear you out and thats what you saw happened to shane.
*The earlier mayweather adjusts, the earlier he takes over and the ealier in the fight he makes you look bad, not neccesarily got to do with the opponent gassing out or conditioning.
