    So which one is it?

You say Pacquiao was in his prime when he fought MAB the first time and is still in his prime. In that 5 years Pacquiao's fought his best opposition spanned 4 weight division and is still in his prime but Barrera in a span of 3 years and one weight class later is already past it?

You know, I'm a grown man, with a grown man's responsibilities like taking care of my daughter; and arguing with some idiot on the internet is not a priority.

let's be honest. Pac needs to stop fighting overrated champions and fight guys who are under 29 years old.

You gents are aware the words Prime and Shot are abstract ideas, correct?

All you have to do is watch some pre03 Barrera fights to understand why it was such an impressive win for Pac.

the air from the forest fires during training affected his stamina. and the metal plate controversy was fresh in his mind. Of course Barrera wasn't the same fighter.

    Absolutely.

I was already a big fan of Pacman way before he fought Barrera. I was so disgusted by the decision of Pac's camp to fight Barrera. I really thought Pac had no chance against Barrera who at that point appeared to have no weakness whatsoever. I thought Barrera was more skilled, bigger, probably hit harder (as he was a division higher than Pac), better chin, equally good in stamina.

Many experts did not give Pac much of a chance against the then concensus P4P #2 Barrera.

I said that if by any miracle, Pac at least made it a conpetitive fight, that he shoul be given absolute full credit for hanging on in there with one of the greats.

Boy, Pac made Barrera look old and shot.

Rigth after that fight, Barrera looked evey bit as good as his best when he fught Tapia and Morales.

So yes, Pac made a prime peak Barrera look shot and old.

Surely you are not created strict rules on when a certain fighter's prime is??
How do you discuss Duran? Who may have been in his absolute Prime in Montreal but still captured another belt a decade later and looked completely shot a few times in between? (I realize Duran was a special fighter, so it is unfair to use him as an example...but you get the point. Every fighter's career is different...)
Some fighters don't even get to have a prime! Poor David Reid's career got destroyed before he even reached his potential.

    Fosho :yep

After the Morales fight everyone and their mommas agreed that Barrera and even Morales weren't the same after that fight.

The rematch further proved those sentiments to be true.

When Barrera fought Tapia, even the comentators were again commenting on how Barrera had slowed down.

These *******s have been following boxing since 2004 and they come here acting as if they know everything about boxing, what a bunch of doofusus. :yep

Morles And Barrera Were prime before the first fight of them thats all... after that first fight they werent in their prime ... they were by 93 or 93 % in the first fight that took a lot of both...
and yes maybe the first win from pac was vs a 90 % barrera... but wasnt PRIME

If the excuse is PAcman didnt beat I a prime Barrera I disagree. Though I do beleive he wasnt menally prepared for a tough battle....I think he thought I beat the MAN Hamed so how hard is it facing PAcman.

Just as Hamed wasnt mentally prepared for the Barrera who turned up, Barrera wasnt mentally prepared for Pacman

a pre-prime pacman won decisively against the prime and most say, the best version that that barrera was who has altered his style from being a brawler to become a thinking fighter to become more effective and was labelled as one of the top 3 best boxers in the world when pac fought him.

those who say that a brawling barrera would beat pac are delusional. it would just make his style fall more on pac's strengths.

If Hussein nearly beat Pac by KO, what do you think the version of MAB that fought Morales I would do to Pac. The video is floating around on ESB. Watch it and get back to me. ;)

i have watched both fight. what i'm trying to say here is, the pac that beaten barrera wan not even the best pac version yet he dismantled him every single round. what more if barrera fought today's pac? please stop excusing barrera and mexican fighters all the time. they are also human and sometimes they lose to a better fighter. no shame in losing to pac because we have seen how much more pac had accomplished after his win over barrera.

Hell NO !!! this is the same guy who went to war with McKenny went to war twice with junior Jones , had two wars with eric morales, and had close to 50 if not more then 50 fights before fighting pac .. how on earth can someone think he was still in his prime.. Barrera had clearly flipped the odometer before meeting pac.
