As was discussed here in a couple of other threads, this fight got a lot of people talking and got a lot of viewers signing up for it that normally wouldn't watch a boxing event, mostly due to Valuevs size. However, the fight turned out to be a low action strategic fight from Haye, which many fans expected but which a lot of casual viewers might not appreciate. So the question is, could this fight have turned people off boxing and ruined Hayes chances of bigger PPV numbers in future?
A british boxer won the Heavyweight championship of the world in a decent fight. It wasn't a *******, but it was a long way from Froch v Dirrell bad. Can't be anything but good.
Good tactical fight, but don't feel it will appease the masses. Haye calls the heavyweight division boring, yet played the lead role in a snorefest.
