Well if Tyson intended to throw it he sure fought like someone who wanted to win. He knocked douglas down and lamost out. Douglas had tyson's number, he trained hard, tyson didn't take the fight serious so he got beat. Tyson probably thought the fight would last no more than 2-3 rounds. But douglas clearly had a different plan in mind to beat the **** out of tyson. If I was going to throw a fight, I would throw it early and fall over multiple times when I was hit or just stay down like jack johnson. I think tyson was just beaten physically. He did the same thing in the lewis fight where he was trying to get up. That being said not getting up to take more punishment in a fight you KNOW you are going to lose isn't a dive, its called being smart. I'd rather stay on my knee to fight another day against an opponent I knew I could not defeat than to get my brains beat out unconscious and never box again.
yeah sure, he also faked the way his eyes rolled up when Douglas landed that uppercut that started that final sequence. amazing fighter in addition to being an atg actor, right up there with Marlon Brando LOL
it was too convincing a beating. if you were taking a dive, you'd do it before you took so much punishment.
Picked quite a way to "throw" a fight Almost knocking you opponent down before taking an absolute savage beating isnt usually the typical way to throw a fight
I don't think the OP meant that he threw the fight, more that he could have got up and fought on but gave up. Whatever, I think it was a legit brain scramble.
He was out of it did you see how long it took to him to get mouthpeace and he had no control over his hand. Also if he was clear minded he would have rised up and told that he has no mouthpiece.
