Its not an excuse when it was true. Anyone with half a brain can see the difference in the two Wilder fights and figure out that he was a better-restored fighter in the second. But what. He is a great fighter, and is going to climb a lot higher yet, so if you want to cling to knockdowns from when he was 22 and 24, you go right ahead.
Whatever, dude, that's all. You are watching a guy who will be remembered as an ATG. You can understand what you are seeing now or in the rear-view mirror. I give a ****.
He doesn't need to make excuses you dim bulb. I have already told you, if you want to hold onto the events of nine years ago, go right ahead. I don't care, and neither does anyone else. **** off.
I think you know there’s a huge difference, Wlad fought anyone and everyone except his brother while Wilder didn’t face a ‘live’ opponent until he fought Fury. You asked for evidence that Wilder was a cherry picking ducker and I pointed out that he had form for ducking the best which included Wlad. You can add Whyte to that list as well, WBC Nō1 contender for Deontays Title for almost 3 years but Wilder adamantly refused to fight him!
Honestly, I don't think he ducked Wlad or anyone else for that matter. But the evidence is quite clear that he ducked everyone collectively. Becomes a world champion and then fights Molina, Duhaupas, Szpilka, Arreola, Washington and Stiverne in a row. "He's a baby winning a title. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama". They fought in Alabama four more times ffs. It was just an all-American circlejerk while pretending to be a world champion. And yes, the Povetkin fight fell through but that doesn't excuse everything.
Finkel protected him from Wladimir. It’s funny that years ago Wilder was complaining about america not caring about him and why he wasn’t a superstar, but if he fought Wladimir he would have been a star even if he lost but he and his team went the easy route but american boxing fans know better and america still doesn’t care about him. He went the villain route and it ended up hurting him more.
Given Wilder’s aggressive approach to calling himself the baddest man on the planet, and his claim to want to unify (while Joshua was the champion), you have to admit that he didn’t carry that same energy when Wlad was around. Is it a duck? No, technically not. However, it does give off the impression that Wilder and his team wanted no part in that potential fight.
Because Wilder didn’t want anything to do with Wlad as he knew Wlad would destroy him in a humiliating fashion! What’s Wlad meant to do when Wilder won’t go near anyone ranked inside the top 20 (normally top 200) or younger than 40 years old! You are claiming Wlad, as unified champion, not fighting Wilder was wilders fault. For this to be true you would need evidence that Wlad made an offer to Wilder. The champion chooses who they make offers to not the other way around
The very best WK smashes any Wilder inside of 4 rounds with Wilder being rocked by every jab and cuffing punch along the way, until WK delivers the Coup de Gras with likely a jab, RH, L hook combo closing out the show. Wilders team did all the ducking while Wilder just followed the program with zero objection.
