    I guess you may get that idea of him because he's probably seen and commented on the same questions dozens of times in his prime. He's at nearly 50,000 posts now, as a comparison you cannot judge a shopworn Ali on the Holmes fight

    Ah, just your threads. That's different. You have two threads on the front page. Qawi-Jones, which I answered directly and in full, and then this one, which I didn't answer directly and in full...that gives a totally different complexion to the matter, but still, never or rarely looks a little over-excited?

    He did not lack heart. I think it was more like Arguello vs Pryor II when he'd been through the fire and didn't really want to go through it again (in the case of the fourth fight). In the third fight its legit, just could not continue.

    Strange fights, really. Pep looked better than Saddler in both of them, and I think if he had wanted it a little bit more, he could have went 2-2. Easy for me to say, of course, considering I wasn't in the ring, taking the shots he was taking, but this was my perception as a spectator. I didn't see Pep taking a great deal of punishment, the clean shots that were getting through were being landed by him. Perhaps you're right, he just didn't want it enough to go through 15 rounds of wrestling with Saddler.
