Come off it. He's the only fighter in the top 10 rankings who hasn't beaten a very good/great fighter. Ward has beaten Kessler, Segura has beaten Calderon, Bradley beat Alexander, PONG beat KOKI KAMEDA and I don't need to mention the others. Dominance over poor fighters proves that Wlad is better than poor fighters...it doesn't prove he's great or anything like that.
You can't just name one random fight from a few years ago and assume it means anything For what it's worth, Ferguson wasn't a bad fighter. He lost to Tyson, Holmes etc., and Sprott lost to Matt Skelton. Completely different levels of fighter. Aside from that, Mercer beat Ferguson in the same year. Even if the losses were comparable, which they aren't, how would that make the 90's "worse"? I don't understand that line at all.

Wlad is a great fighter anyone denying it is delusional. Holmes did not really beat any great fighter either (that wasnt WAY passed prime) yet noone argues that he is great either. His longevity proves it as well. Vitali is a h2h nightmare which is why he gets mentioned as well even though his resume is even poorer.
I'm not a Wlad fan but I don't think these questions are fair to Wlad because if you look at what has happened to the heavyweight division since he's been the dominant force the only way to answer this is to say yes boxing would be better with a different champion and yes the HW division would be better without Wlad. But that isn't fair to him because we can't blame him for dominating the competition and not opening up and risking getting knocked out.
