You must be referring to the body shot right? I know he never stunned old iron head upstairs.

He is known as the best Defensive boxer of all time by alot so he's OK. As for goat, There is no such thing as an overall Goat, Just greats IMO. For every great, there is a another great who could beat them. I think there is a Most powerfull, most skillful, toughest and other attributes that one can find a decent way to rate against eachother. When it comes to the total package being rated for GOAT, I think it pretty tough to do knowing how many greats have come and gone, as well as how good these guys were.

I think Chavez was stunned a bit here at the 0:45 mark.

At the very least, the punch sent him back and his legs buckled momentarily.

The only problem is you know exactly what's going to happen with his fights: He's going to thoroughly outclass his opponent, play around a little, and the chance of a KO or any serious drama happening isn't very likely. I don't think I've ever seen someone else who made boxing look so easy, he's marvelous to watch for those virtuoso performances and just to have those "****, how is he so good" reactions, and he was actually rather aggressive and busy, but due to the one-sided nature of the vast majority of his fights in his prime, they were rarely exciting. Basically, as an individual fighter he wasn't boring, but his fights were too predictable and non-competitive to be all that fun.

The mongoose is no fun to watch against a gopher snake, it takes a cobra to truly appreciate it...

No, boxing is a multi demensional sport. Watching a master craftsman like Whitaker do his thing is exciting to me as watching a pitch battle between two brawlers.

 Na i disagree i watched this quite a few times before posting and i dont feel he was hurt. He did get hit flush and it got his attention but thats it.

But i do remember (forgot which round) Whittaker catching Chavez with a beautiful body shot and hurting him.. Lot of people didnt catch that, i didnt the first time... My dad pointed it out to me while watching the tape and only then did i catch it.
