Did you like Big George's commentary back when he was doing it?

If you have two sluggers in the ring, then George is pretty good.
If you have a great boxer in the ring then George is useless and doesn't understand or appreciate the art of the sweet science.
Listen to his stupid pro Tito comments in Hopkins vs Trinidad.

George only appreciates sluggers and brawlers.

He wasn't the most technical of analysts, but he brought a lot of passion to his role, you could see how much he loves boxing.

He was prone to repeating the same phrases again and again, "don't ever follow a puncher" etc and I sometimes had the feeling that he went into a fight with a narrative already planned and he would stick to it regardless of how the fight was actually playing out.

Not the worst but I wasn't his biggest fan either.

George is naturally a very likeable guy but sometimes he just said nonsense. Didn't make any sense at all. George is one of these people where if he is not sure what he wants to say, he just stays positive and smiles a lot, to cover for his lack of knowledge.

He was entertaining, but not because he was a GOOD commentator. He'd have a gem here and there, but he was entertaining just because of how ridiculous he could be, and he and Merchant would argue.
