Fantastic fight... Anyway, Diego's power would be too much for the baby bull and eventually those short powerpunches of his would send Diaz to sleepy town. Corrales by 6th round KO.

Corrales by KO. Diaz is easy to hit. It doesnt work out for a fighter against Corrales if you dont have a slick style like PBF or Casamayor. Or you have to KO him first and Diaz aint gonna do that!

i see diaz trying to outbox him a la freitas only to get tagged by flush, solid rights by corrales and get tkoed in the 6th or 7th.

Great fight. I think Diaz puts Diego on the canvas a couple of times early in the fight and then Diego comes back and stops Diaz around the 6th, 7th round.

the 2005 version of corrales (i meant the version who went life and death with castillo in the first fight and not the shot one after that fight) does not need to spit his mouthpiece. as long as he controls the pace, juan diaz will be easy work

You don't think he's redeemed himself after his last 3 fights? Stop living in the past. I believed he's earned the right to fight Floyd and be labeled as one of the top boxers right now.

As for Diaz, GBP should put him matches that would mesh well with his style. His days as a top contender might be limited, so why not let the guy fight his style and put on some exciting matches.

Diego was a good fighter, but no way was he the level of Jose Napoles. Diego lost some fights against guys Napoles wouldn't have lost. This is a good matchup. Diego with a good left hook and weak enough chin vs. Juan Diaz who punches ok and is tough. Diego was not that much better than Diaz, just that he had that great fight with Castillo. I liked Diego, but to say he was an ATG or even HOF is pushing it a little. Stylewise this is Corrales fight to win. He would probably stop Diaz in 7-9 rounds, but he might struggle before that. Diaz is not a bad fighter. He isn't great, but he is not bad where Corrales would just stop him easily.

Judging by this post... I'd say you've never seen Diego Corrales fight.
