Seems like they're going to go down the Jon Jones route of claiming 'trace' amounts, or in Jone's case 'picograms' were only found in the sample, therefore pointing to contamination.

They then begin talking nonsense about supplements being made in the same VATS as others and that's how cross-contamination occurs.

The only interesting thing I learned from Eddie's IFL interview was how he seemed to distance himself from it all. 'Oh there was a hearing that Dylian went to, I didn't even go...or even send a representative. I'm not on the panel' - 'if they clear the fight to go ahead, my hands are tied there is nothing I can do to stop it, BBBoC cleared the fight to go ahead'

Looks like it. Jones however shouldn't have been given a pass simply because of all his previous.

Eddie could have been an all time great heavyweight with the slipping and sliding he's doing atm.

That doesn't really make sense. He's working with top sport scientists now and he's in big fights now .... fights he REALLY WANTS TO WIN !
People often say this stuff : "I don't think he'd risk it by taking PEDs knowingly" etc.
But clearly they would rather risk being caught for PEDs than train and fight 100% clean and be exposed as second-rate.

Those are the options available for top-flight heavyweights : go 100% clean and never fail a drugs test and LOSE fights and drop out of the rankings ....... OR take PEDs sensibly and under good advisers and run a small risk of being caught but continue to win !

No, he's reported to have metabolites of Dianabol in his body. That's a very convenient contanimation to occur for a heavyweight or strength/power athlete.
He supposedly trains under guidance of scientists at Loughborough university. They messed up his drugs cycle ... or he went off script and added something extra.

Anyway, as you point out, supplements got him a 2-year ban before, so it's highly unlikely he'd be taking supplements without having them lab-tested first, if he was bothered by it.

Most likely, he takes Dianabol to make himself big and strong and aid his energy for training and fighting, and (it's worth repeating) to make himself big and strong ...... just like 99.99% of the rest of people with Dianabol in their system.

It sets a horrible precedent if true. Whyte came out of nowhere to make millions this last few years, and it could all be on the back of PEDs. Surely every decent heavyweight coming through will have the Matchroom/PED combination in their thoughts..

Reminds me a bit of the Haye/Bellew fiasco. "If those guys can make millions doing that then why can't I.."

Exactly. Dilian Whyte's legal team have had over a week to prepare an excuse, and almost 2 days since the story broke.
UKAD have even more to answer for, if they cleared the fight.

Its a joke. I presume he will claim its therapeutic but TUEs should not be given after the fact. The whole thing reeks of cheating, incompetence and cover ups.

Not really. As someone else said Eddie’s main goal was to absolve himself of any responsibility, saying he was contractually obliged to allow the fight to go ahead and that he doesn’t know anything about what happened at Whyte’s hearing with UKAD - which I don’t believe for a second.

When Eddie said he was contractually obliged to let the fight go on, if Andrew McCart had any real gumption and desire to give the public what we want, he would have asked Eddie if he had a moral obligation to inform team Rivas.

Honestly one of the most pointless interviews I’ve ever heard.

They’re going to brush it under the carpet by the looks of it, the casual fans will buy it and make excuses as i’m already seeing on twitter, especially with that stupid account ‘boxing kingdom’. UKAD, Eddie Hearn and BBBofC are all seemingly passing the buck. Nobody wants the blame so the easiest thing to do is play the findings down. Boils my p*** mate.

Honestly where the **** is this statement from Whyte that Hearn said yesterday Whyte was so eager to issue?

I know what’s going on here. They are waiting for some sort of major breaking news to be broken today to take the limelight and then they’ll slip it out under the radar.

Thats just it, and so many people involved they all can work together to make it go away. Just seen that video at the press conference. Why on earth would they discuss it like that in front of the world media with mics?? Such a pantomime. Its extremely clever PR.

I reckon the video of them talking at the press conference last night that got leaked has taken the shine off his excuse. Redraft will be inbound.
