I know. Where is the desire to win championships? Against Ward, Dirrell would have had the chance to become WBA champion, after throwing his last title shot away. This was a huge opportunity for him, but, as his annoying trainer said, it's not about pride. It ****ing should be! His trainer is a ***** and anyone who still backs Dirrell up, should listen to the slimy **** explain his actions. He's a complete moron. Talking about money, like he's on the Forbes list or something, when in reality, he co-trains a B-class fighter who will never amount to anything in boxing, including financially. I would have loved Showtime to "axe" him why he thinks money is more important than pride. Maybe to non-fighters but to real champions, it obviously isn't.
in every sense of the word, i know people gotta make a living and there's no problem with that, but dont make it yo main objective, cherry-picking and lookin like a ***** in the process. why do top blk fighters in boxing today have no pride or shame, but have plenty of Ego? Making the rest of us (african-americans) look bad. And b4 someone comes in with a smart comment, i am A-A too and a hardcore fan of boxing not just one fighter
"were prizefighters not pridefighters" This made me dislike boxing more and more, you don't say **** like that even though it's obvious you idiot you are there for green ****, I don't even wana know how much boxers get paid, because when i watch boxing i want to see it as a Sport, best fighters fighting best, fighting for they country, pride, competing to prove who is the best in weight division, and finally there is reward for that - respect, $, quality of live, fame. Big ass twats like that killing boxing with they big ass mouth
Same goes to that twat head Maywether, all that bigass clown tallks is the $, just retire for good, tere is plenty of great fighters
mayweather talks **** but he has sortof earned the right to do so, dirrell has literally done nothing and he thinks he is mayweather.
Are these quotes from Fight Camp? I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Anyway, I'm really not surprised. Even more than Dirrell himself, I got really irritated with his team from what they showed after the Froch fight. I'm really not feeling their whole vibe at all. One thing above all, these guys just come across as VERY unprofessional. It's not a good look for them at all. I really hope Dirrell retires permanently. If he's got neurological damage, there's no sense in being in a boxing ring at all. And I definitely won't miss him.
I thought it was funny when Kesseler announced his double vision, but then hopped in his Audi and drove off.
That scene was embarrassing to watch, and I didn't even like Dirrell to begin with. My theory is that his team and him knew he wasn't ready for Ward. A loss would have made him 1-2 in his last 3 fights, with none of them even being a good showing. He would have exited the tournament essentially worse off than he entered it. Everyone would know his name but he would have gained no fans or further financial prospects. By pulling out BEFORE the Ward fight, he can take some time to go back to the gym and iron out the problems in his game. Maybe take an easier fight in 3-6 months. Because they know that regardless of who wins the tournament, there'll probably be some demand for Dirrell to fight him. And since it'll be the Super Six champ and top dog in the division, there'll be huge money and exposure associated with the fight. (Fighting Ward now wouldn't be as big a fight as fighting Ward the Super Six, WBA, WBC, and possibly RING champion. The money would be huge.) If Ward wins, people will want to see this fight. If Froch wins, they can demand a rematch and Froch would likely give it to them. If Abraham wins, then that's a fight that's obviously going to happen. So by pulling out now, Dirrell is saved from another loss and will be able to cash in after the tournament, and even possibly get some wins if he puts in the work now. ***** move, but a smart one nonetheless.
Showtime CHOSE to show Dirrell's family completely expose themselves because they have brought the tournament and the sport into disrepute. They lost Showtime lots of money and this was revenge.
