Peach of a shot. Classy performance from Barker. McDermott looked like he was taking the punches well, but that shot was too good and too clean.

Barker is a good fighter...but if they are thinking about fighting Khoren Gevor for the EBU title I'd hold him back. He looks a little bit weak in the clinches and Gevor is a very tough come forward guy that took 10 rounds of Abraham's bombs.

Darren Barker was a touch above tonight and Macklin vs Barker would be a cracking fight he is developing very well and will progress on wards and upwards. Still a lot to work on but very impressive Mcdermott was no bum or fool!!!

Great performance from Barker. Although I felt that the ref should have let it go on. McDermott got up and looked like he wanted to continue.

    Bring on Matthew Macklin.:bbb

yeah, barkers inside fighting was poor. the only thing mcdermott bossed in the fight. not often barker fights will have that many clinches though.

For me Barker just needs to learn to not fall in with shots improve his inside work and strength and his defence and i think he will move on to bigger things.

Why do all boxers make excuses for iffy stoppages when if it was them on the end of it they'd be screaming poor stoppage.

Mick tells it like it is 'intercontinental or bogus world title'. That is as big a hint to Frankie boy as I've ever heard. British, Commonwealth, Euro then WBC and the rest. Mick knows the score.

Macklin indeed. I'd favour Barker slightly.

He's not ready for Gevor thats for sure. Gevor presents a really difficult style for him. A southpaw pressure fighter that could take Abraham's bombs for 10 rounds. The way Barker struggles with McDermott's inside strength that is a major problem looking towards that fight.
