No, almost all MMA fighters take it and I'm sure many boxers do too. You are looking at it the wrong way. Look at it in the sense it allows your muscles to "re-grow" faster after a workout tears them apart. Allows you to recover faster and build more muscle quicker and more effectively after your workouts.
