Oh, I'm not worried about Forbes' health! It just sucks that he's basically being whored into fighting a near-certain losing fight, like Ike Quartey was whored into fighting a near-certain losing fight against Wright. Both guys deserve better than that. Let them just fight some prospects or juorneymen their own size in their twilight, win lose or draw at least it's honest. Don't bait them with paydays to use them as record padding for guys way too big for them to even consider fighting. It's disrespectful.
Since when did youbecome ESB's nun? Forbes is a grown man, if he's fine with it then itshouldn't bug anyone. It's not like Forbes is fighting Kelly Pavlik. It's a past prime DLH who is a small Jr. MW.
Nun? It's just something that sprang into my head. That's the impetus behind nearly every thread posted here. It's one big diahrretic flow of stream of consciousness. If you dig back to the Quartey-Wright threads, I believe I posted similar things. It's not a huge deal, and I'm not losing sleep over it, but like that situation, it doesn't sit well. I like Ike, as I like Steve, and neither guy needed another pointless certain loss at this stage of their careers. This thought happened to pop into my head when I saw the pic on Stevie's myspace. I wasn't thinking about anything other than "Well that sucks, that when people look at this guy's boxrec profile generations from now, they'll note that at the end of his career he hit a skid going 1-3...which doesn't accurately reflect his skill as a fighter, and furthermore two of those losses were against light middleweights and one was a robbery. Just seems a damn shame and a waste." That's all. Don't get pissy because you've had a hard time looking past the fact that I was even slightly critical of DLH to see what my actual point has been all along. :good
Hmmm. Did you not read your own post that started this thread off :huh I think you are the one confused about what your thread started off as. But in any event, you are ignorning that plain and simple fact that seems to be completely eluding you.....Forbes thinks he can win....he will try his best to win....he is the underdog...so instead of condemming a boxer you have respect for, try rooting him on...I mean, from reading what you wrote about him and Ike...it seems as if you prefer them to drift off into oblivion fighting mediocre fighters until they finally retire...forgotten by boxing....instead of cheering them on to take chances to go out like FRIGGEN MEN ON THEIR DAMN SHIELDS....this is boxing not figure skating. Seriously man, look at what you have been writing...I for one, do not like to see guys protect their legacy by avoiding challenges....:nono Anyone can be beaten on any given day...that has been proven throughout the course of history. So with that in mind, try being a little more optimistic ! :thumbsup
There's a difference between being an underdog and being ridiculously outsized. DLH is not a small LMW, and Forbes is not a big 140 lber. In both his case and Ike's, I feel they have little left to prove in their careers by challenging Goliaths (obviously both feel differently...or just have a weakness for stacks of Benjamins). I don't want them to necessarily feast on "gimme" fights until they retire - but at the same time I wouldn't bash them for it. Ideally, I'd like to see them fight the young lions of their own respective weight classes - and if they lose, so be it. Forbes losing to a Demetrius Hopkins (which he didn't legitimately, damn it) or a Francisco Bojado is fine...losing to DLH is a waste. Quartey losing to a Vernon Forrest (which he didn't legitimately, damn it) or a Joachim Alcine is fine...losing to Winky is a waste.
Exactly! Telling the truth has gotton you the respect of almost every poster on ESB. You post the truth when some posters do nothing but spout lies, lies, lies. Window, Relentless, Beware, etc. try to make everyone believe that Oscar can walk on water. Yu say he's a *** who likes to wear fishnets. I've seen photos of Oscar in fishnets but I have never seen Oscar walk on water. Pretty obvious who speaks the truth. :smoke
how sweet jackie and kaygb are sucking each other off, again. kaygb "no you are right, you tell the truth" jackie "no you do" just get a room.
Right the truth!!!! atsch The truth is while your smoking a Marlboro Light in tighty whiteys, laying in bed massaging Jacks bald head while you ease to sleep on your fat chest with stories of the 9th round of the Hopkins fight or the last 3 rounds of the Tito fight. Oscar is having sex with his hot ass wife or cheating on her with an even hotter stripper....and the truth is he's the ***? :think
Does nobody else feel bad for the guy getting picked on so soon after a robbery loss? That's actually the same reason I was so against the Quartey-Wright fight - Ike was literally JUST coming off the very controversial loss to Forrest. The hell with the money in both cases - talk about kicking guys square in the pride while they're down! (you could say the also-questionable Bojado decision made it even as far as Forbes and GBP are concerned, but when you sandwich that victory between back-to-back L's against Brewer and Hopkins, and then a pointless one against DLH, that makes for a rather shitty skid, no?)
The dudes career was in the gutter, he went on the Contender for ****s sake. Now he will get alot of exposure and a huge Payday (for him) to fight a guy NOBODY expects him to beat. Not too shabby if you ask me
Thats because they are the same jackass. Its a bit sad, to keep logging off to reply to your own alias.
