Salita's life makes for an interesting story and he's surely no phoney, but he's never displayed the tools or the skill to beat a guy like Khan unless Khan has a mental meltdown.

He has a punchers chance. Come to think of it, anyone against Khan has a punchers chance.

If he can remain focused, and toughened enough to walk through the barrage of punches coming his way, then he may do well to get close to Khan and apply serious preassure. If he can make Khan fight on the inside (because Khan is hopeless on the inside), he could make it ugly, and possibly hurt him with body blows and clean shots to the chin.

It's asking alot because Amir has an impressive bag of tricks, and he'll be using his full array of attacks....accurate, blinding speed, and combinations with a bit of pop. Salita's got his hands full, so I'll be pickin Khan by UD

No. How he's got a world title shot is beyond me. The only guys I even recognise on this guy's record after 30 fights are Robert Frankel, Grover Wiley & Derrick Campos. Hardly world level material, are they? Given his inability to maintain even a 60% KO ration against woeful oppositon, I'd dare to say he doesn't even have a punchers chance. He has to catch Khan first anyway, which he won't.

Never seen the guy fight but boxrec (humour me) shows him to be pretty much in there to lose.

Sure, anyone has a shot at Khan as long as they can weather the inevitable 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2 whirlwind, read: take the endless pitter patter arm punches but not allow the ref to slap on a bull**** stoppage. Then after that just take a nice crack at his chin or temple.

Khan doesnt just have a glass chin, he's just glass all over. I think a well placed punch anywhere below the pecs and anywhere above the clavicle will spark him. Anything else will probably have him in a world of hurt anyway.

Other than the unexpected, e.g The Prescott fight, Mr Warren doesn't match Khan with topple type opponents.

Although he's had only 1 fight against 140 opposition so far, it was against the best oppositon he's faced and a decent puncher, and he took whatever power punches were landed. I'm not saying he's got an iron chin now by any means, but I think it's improved a bit.

You have to remember he's 5'10"/11 and a growing lad. Making 135 couldn't of been all that easy. It's all well and good saying 'have a decent crack at that chin' but Khan under Roach has dramatically improved, he was in-and-out against Kotelnik in a flash and his guard was tight.

He has the power to hurt Khan, but will have big trouble landing himself and his own defence isn't great. Combine that with his slightly dodgy chin and I think we can see Khan dominating this fight before eventually scoring a stoppage.

Think Khan v Kristiansen except with better fighters(since Khan has improved quite a bit since then and Salita's much better than Kristjansen).

Consider also that Salita has been caught cold and KD in the first round against a guy who is 17w(2ko) and another guy who's 27w(4ko). He's gone on to finish the fights but damn getting put down by two feather fisters is embarrassing.

I don't think adding 5lbs of body mass is going to even remotely change his ability to withstand someone forcing their fist into his chin or temple.

Is he **** 5'11; i've heard first hand accounts that he's 5'9. Also look at the size difference between him at "five foot eleven" Prescott.

Still growing? he's 22, he ain't gonna grow anymore, sure his body may mature slightly but to say he's growing is pushing it a bit.

Very true about Roach's work with him, i'm just highlighting that imo it won't take a stellar fighter to fathom out his robotic movements, slip/bull in, then land a shot.

as much as i hope he does win, the fact of the matter is that khan is going to be pitted against lower league opposition until warren decides to cash him out. and salita's record shows he is definately lower league (**** knows how he got to number one, oh wait it's the wba). therefore he has a very small almost negligable chance.

It's not 'adding 5lbs of body mass'. He clearly walks around above 140. It's just a matter of not having to lose less, namely he doesn't have to shed as much water weight, which leaves a fighter dehydrate and lacking energy.

He's about 5'10". Plus, Prescott was standing up tall launching bombs, Khan was slightly leaning down in the fight. And fighters consistently outgrow weights well above the age of 22. It doesn't mean just in height, it means growing in build and frame. A guy may not physically 'fill-out' as it is until the age of about 25.

I wouldn't exactly call him 'robotic' either. He's disciplined and textbook, that's like calling Hopknis 'robotic'.

I know it's not as simple as that, but I still stand by the fact that 5lbs disparity means **** all. You can lose 5lbs by skipping lunch, taking a crap and going for a 30 minute walk in a sweater. Losing the necessity to get rid of 5lbs isn't going to give him Oliver McCalls chin, nor will it make up for the fact he will receive punches from people who also have the same "5lb benefit" as him.

He's not even 5'10. And i'm not just referring to the fight; press conference footage, pictures of him and others I know the height of, and also multiple accounts from people who've stood next to him.

I know he won't fill out until 26+, as that's the mean age at which males metabolism alters. But he's 22, so that's not an issue.

He's robotic; his movements are linear, his actions predictable, his routine is very palpable, and his work is one dimensional. He has no instinct or fight in him, he's very much produced.

Hopkins isn't textbook, he's experienced and wise.
