Castillo looks bored at times. And by "at times", I mean for about five rounds and two minutes of this so far, pretty much the whole thing except the immediate aftermath of the knockdown when he looked mad.

Does he...know this is for a world championship? Like, at least try fighting your ass off. Who knows, you could nick the other guy with an unseen elbow and open up a gash that nets you a TKO win and the gold. Don't just...let the other guy jab you to pieces, while staring down your nose at him. :dunno

Bivol didn't have full power on punch. He was pulling back the moment it landed. If he tried to punch through the target instead of pulling back, Castillo would have been out cold.

Bivol looks like he should move down in weight.

Maybe he’s content to lose a decision vs getting KTFO

Fights like these have me convinced some fighters are paid off to lose. I'm sorry.

70-62. There was a moment where both landed hooks, and Bivol's was a bit flusher & harder, but didn't really hurt Castillo.

Aside from that, a more placid & tranquil scene than an Edouard Manet.

Zoning out to some Burzum inspired Ambient/Black Metal is more engaging than watching Bivol stay in 1 gear and unnecessarily carry an overmatched opponent when he could easily finish them.

...but why not at least try selling out (and yes, risking going out on your shield) when there is a world championship on the line? If you're Castillo you must know that you don't actually belong in a world title fight and may never find yourself in this position again. Just...don't be content just to have shown up and been present...

Bivol with a bit of ratcheted up aggression in the eighth, albeit too late, with under twenty seconds left, had Castillo floundering on the ropes with a sustained attack to body & head and then back down again...

    80-71 Bivol
