Taylor fought an awful fight against Spinks, it had nothing to do with him being unable to KO Spinks.

Boxing originated from fighting. Two guys trading punches till someone dropped and stayed there. As more rules came in, it became more of a sport, more tactics and skills needed to be learnt, to the point where nowdays its more about winning as opposed to proving yourself as a "fighter".

Fact of the matter is, people will always be drawn to the brawlers because they personify what makes boxing so appealing (drama, courage, emotion and violence), especially to non "boxing" fans.

I know that brawlers are more exciting to watch and everything but they are over rated because of there style. A fighter with a brawler style could and usually do get the bigger fights even though they aren't as talented as a slick boxer. It seem like it takes more for a slick boxer to get a big fight than it is for a brawler to get a big fight.

During his era people criticized his style as some do today with Mayweather. Some newbies have called him all sorts of b.s. but who gives a ****.
