I agree. what pisses me off about heavyweight history books is they all seem to go james figg, jack broughton, tom cribb, john c. heenan, john l. sullivan. wheres all the guys in between? it is a massive project but if you want something done........
I currently have a book under review publication related to my disertation, but I'd also like to write one about boxing as well. Maybe something related to Stanley Ketchel or maybe about the Golden Era of Philedelphia Boxers.
After uni i want to write a book, i just don't know what on, but it's something i would absolutely love to work on. The topic must be boxing.
I am working on an 11 volume set dedicated to the career and dietary habits of Tony Tubbs. I think it will be along the lines of "Remembrances of Things Past" only superior in every way and with more fisticuffs.
I think that if I was going to do it I would need to gain experience on researching historic fighters. You would want the book to be the last word on the subject for a while. Perhaps what we need is for some of our resident authours to offer some advice on how to thoroughly research the career of a historic fighter.
