Do you consider Chisora to be "in shape?"

The problem with extra weight is that fat contains a LOT of blood capillaries. (much more than muscle) This puts a large strain on the heart, having to pump blood through them.
    This saps your stamina.

If Chisora were fighting some slow slugger, it might not matter, but against Haye, every pound counts.

people say it's only 7 pounds but it's still 7 pounds of extra fat and to be honest even against vitali he STILL could of lost a few more pounds.

heres what ONE pound of fat looks like btw

Other way round. Excess muscle is much more draining than excess fat. Shannon Briggs vs Chris Arreola?

Still looks a bit soft around the stomach. He is in far better shape than the Fury fight though. He was eating Burgerkings for that fight.

He's in good shape. Perhaps he could take off a few more pounds, but it would foolish to underestimate him because of his build.

You don't seem to get it mate, you can't compare one person to another even if by chance they are the exactly same dimensions. What can you tell about someones bone density by looking at them?
'Bodytypes' are very general, there are differences with EVERYBODY.

That effect is very small compared to the metabolic/biomechanical cost of moving the extra weight, that's how excess fat affects stamina.

I'd say he is in shape yeah, of course hes not in shape to dance round the ring for 12 rounds, but thats not him as the op says, he is a big man whos style is to walk forward and pressure, sure if he lost some fat that would help, but its not gonna have any effect on the outcome of the fight.

He's fine, 240 is about the right weight so he's a bit heavy but it's not important.

    Interesting.

I think if Chisora is in the shape he was for Vitali and Helenius his fitness won't be a problem. It will come to down to experience, strategy, chin, heart, natural ability, power etc.

Looks in shape for a recovering obesity victim. People go on about how **** he was against Fury, he was only 8-9lbs heavier than he is now.

    Haye KO.
