He knocked Kovalev spark out at 175lbs, he clearly has 1 punch KO power, he doesn’t consistently throw power shots and take risks, he only throws when he knows it will land, not when there’s a 75% chance, he will only throw a KO punch when he knows 100% that it will land that’s why he hasn’t been getting many KO’s also the fact that he’s been moving up weights
Excellent body puncher and combination puncher but not one-shot power generally speaking. (He broke Kovalev down then took him out.)
not really a puncher, hes a technician in the old school mold. if you look at the ko shot he put on kovalev, he put max leverage on that left hook that shut down kovas nervous system, leaving him helpless against the following straight right. i could have iced kovalev with that much leverage.
Shady as in he was winning the fight easily just by going at sparring pace and power. But not once did he show intent to get Canelo out of there when he could. Then he went wobbly from a hook he partially caught on the gloves and went down to have the ref wave it off in a nanosecond. Then he follows it up by saying afterwards that he only took the money and was never going to win. Sounds like a legal way of admitting to taking a dive/throwing the fight. I know Kovalev isn't durable but that was terribly shady looking.
I don’t think he’s heavy handed but he can be explosive when he times the right shots. I think he’s somewhat of an artificial puncher
Kovalev the man who sat on the ropes and quit against andre ward is going to put his chin in the air for canelo to lay him out. You can't fake getting your head snapped like that. honestly it just sounds like wishful thinking on your part
Kovalev was a declined fighter by the time he fought Canelo. There's a reason the odds were the way they were, and it's not because people suspected a conspiracy for Kov to throw the match.
