The feeling I had with Carwin was stronger than with Velazquez now. Had Carwin a smidgeon of Cardio, he would have won that fight.

He showed me that Lesnar to be what I suspected, I said that Carwin should play Liddell vs. Ortiz with Lesnar..

I think Cain should be able to execute the gameplan. He has cardio and a great wrestlng pedigree himself.. Like I said before, it doesn't take a d1 champ to stuff a d1 champ level takedown.. Velazques is d1 material, losing a controvercial match.

  2. I get the feeling cain might be a little over his head here with lesnar. A good technician who likes to get in there and throw might get shut down by a huge aggressive wrestler.

Cain also looks a lot bigger than he is naturally and that plays a part when competing against a natural big guy.

Cain should be very comfortable dealing with large wrestlers.

Valesquez is a very good wrestler but he is so much smaller than Brock that I think it might not matter. Brock does a great job of keeping people down so maybe Cain being smaller and more agile than Carwin would make the difference in him being able to scramble to his feet better. Obviously Cain has a better gas tank than Carwin.

Still, even though I would say Cain is better technically both on his feet and as a wrestler than Carwin, Carwin's amazing one punch KO power I think would give him the advantage in the fight over Lesnar.

Cain is a very legitimate challenger though. He isn't one of the giant heavyweights, and he hasn't yet proved that he can hang with a wrestler the talent of Lesnar in mma, but he possesses qualities that could be very frustrating for Brock (faster, crisper hands; fantastic stamina, solid takedown defense and great ground control). Still, I don't think these techinical superiorities outweigh Carwin's fight ending one punch power.

brock should be fighting more often imo
that said i think cain is more dangerous than carwin & they should fight each other

    the nogeira ko was impressive
but the fight vs kongo showed that cain even if he has a good cardio & good heart
    he can buckle easily

but trust me brock will get ko'd soon if he continues to get pampered with easy fights from dana

No i don't think he has the punching power that carwin does and that was really the reason lesnar got in trouble.

Lesnar will take him down and ground and pound his ass.
