Do you guys think Greg Haugen deserves the IBHOF note than Vinny Paz?

There’s not much between them for me. Haugen has two better wins than Paz in Camacho and Jimmy Paul. But Vinny beat Greg two out of three and had more longevity. Take your pick

He ain’t getting in. That’s a guarantee. Otherwise that’ll just be an even bigger low for what qualifies as being a HOFer.

In an ideal HOF system, neither Haugen nor Paz deserves in. They were simply good fighters. Nowhere near great. But for me, Haugen was better.

I guess so,but using the nowadays standard that such fighters like Gatti and Corrales could enter, while Santos Laciar and Ralph Dupas still had to wait, Greg should've entered the IBHOF by now.

Pazienza has the comeback from what should've been a career ending injury, which may or may not neutralize douchebaggery. He also had a higher profile career.

Haugen was maybe a better technician overall and had some high profile wins, but from all accounts was beat by nobody Miguel "Zorro" Santana in a strangely untelevised title defense and got off on a technicality. (Thanks to Pazienza jumping in the ring) So I'm not exactly sold on his HOF credentials as much as I admire his hardscrabble roots coming up the ranks and overachieving.

How about we leave them both out with an honorable mention? Neither seems to belong to me although both tough and fearless guys who provided more entertainment for us than the average fighter.

Higher profile career...idk man,he faced either equal or probably worse competition than Haugen, and while he lasted longer... Paz didn't really beat much ATG's in their prime, but Greg did by beating Camacho.

He shouldn't be in either. But, yes he was better than Paz

-dethroned a quality champion in jimmy paul

    - bad decision in the first Paz fight in Providence

    - clear decision win in rematch in neutral territory.

    - lost his title to an all time great in Pernell Whitaker

    - Beat Hector Camacho albeit controversally - Camacho had a point deducted for failing to touch gloves before the final round. Camacho had clearly beaten Vinny Paz a year earlier

    I hope not.

All action but Hall of Fame accomplished? No. Gatt was very debatable and he proved his superiority over Mickey.

Yes he was one of many people on the ballot that belonged in more. Either one would serve as a barometer for a borderline HOFer though for me they'd be on the other sides of the fence with Haugen being in and Vinny not. I see myself as a big HOFer person.

I suspect the IBHOF is going to put in all alphabet era multi division champs barring them being egregiously unqualified. Like if you win titles in multiple divisions you have to prove you don't belong in by having something wrong rather than the other way around.

But the bigger problem is all the ATGs who got snubbed. Haugen was more at the bottom of list of snubs. But at the top you got guys on another level getting passed over like Tarver.
